Do we have a better map? Probably 2/3 of the planets are nothing but maroon smudges. I cannot read the numbers on them at all.

You might try mailing it in a GIF format. It removes transparant pixles and makes the letters clearer in my view. I can read everyone but the Cardassian, which I can guess at.

Re: STAPLIC SIM OOC THREAD
I'll send it back around tonight with in a GIF, if that still doesn't work then I'll go through and renumber all the CU planets in a different (darker) color so they're easier to read.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Ditto. I (the Cardassians) started out with only a few hundered obsolete ships. Galors, Heikeikis, and Keldons. Lucky for me I was able to buy some ships for system defense, and a fortuitous alliance secured my boarders (for the most part)

To be fair, if it wasn't for the rather freaked out scale of tech advance, the Keldons would still be fairly good ships. Cardassian ships seem to be pretty able for their size and the Keldons pack a lot of speed and firepower.

Re: STAPLIC SIM OOC THREAD
I dunno. They look fairly nice against Ambassadors or even Nebulas. But are badly outclassed by Sovereigns, Defiants, Norexan and Prometheus types. With like 2/3rds of starfleet wiped out in the war those would be the main types with which they would rebuild I would think, as there is little reason to build old ships just for the sake of it.Deepcrush wrote:To be fair, if it wasn't for the rather freaked out scale of tech advance, the Keldons would still be fairly good ships. According to Memory Alpha and Wiki....the Galors were supposed to be equel roughly to an Ambassador class. The Keldon was supposed to me a match to the Galaxy class (TNG version). Nothing could touch the Defiant class and beyond though.

Re: STAPLIC SIM OOC THREAD
The Galors seemed to be maybe a match for an Excelsior, but I find it hard to believe they could scratch an Ambassador 1v1. The Keldons could be another matter, I'm not really sure. However I don't believe either are a match for a Nebula or Galaxy class.

Re: STAPLIC SIM OOC THREAD
Hard to say for sure, since they never really had a one on one. But, the Galors and the Ambassadors were ships of an era, and the Keldon was the answer to the Galaxy/Nebula launched was it ten years earlier?

I tend to think that the Galors were a match for the Excies and the Keldon a match for the Ambassadors. Hence why they paired them, or even tripled them up to compensate for their lack of strength.

My thoughts exactly, Picard faced three of them and didn't even seem to care.Reliant121 wrote:I tend to think that the Galors were a match for the Excies and the Keldon a match for the Ambassadors. Hence why they paired them, or even tripled them up to compensate for their lack of strength.
Galor/Excelsior and Keldon/Ambassador seems to fit best of all.

Which is why I'm a bit nervous but I'm actually looking forward to trying to rebuild a shattered nation.

The Cardassians have an impressive industrial capacity. Plus, due to their recent changes are the most open faction to mold into whatever the player wants.

What about colonial claims? Can we claim space at this point even if we don't colonize?
