I'll speak at the hero's thing once I write it. I'm really slow about long posts like this, so it'll take me a while.

Need a little help before I can finish the statement.

How long has it been since we started this thing? I need to know who would still be alive.

Also, would Spock likely still be alive by now? Just curious.

New map and TR's went out tonight. For the sake of everyone's sanity there is a moratorium on claiming territory and colonies until the next round of turns come back to you. That way everyone gets a chance to look and its not just a rush to read the map and jump on things as soon as possible.

See the news for the IC reasoning for why this is possible now...its flimsy but suits our purposes here.

darn...I thought I'd have such a great head start after putting the dots on there....I really held back to not start claiming territory three days ago :P
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

So this would mean that we would have to mark down our colonization efforts next turn yes?

I can see conflict ahead from where I'm standing.

Ah, the beginning of brush wars...

Solo ships going head to head to avoid open war... Low scale troop movements on the ground... This could be interesting! Plus I get to test my new warships!

To those who don't know what a skirmish is, I'm not pointing fingers but just throwing it out there, if you're using both hands to count your ships in a skirmish fight, its most likely to many.

Yeah, the key to keeping any such conflicts limited lies in keeping the overall numbers down but also in the intensity of the conflict. If you just want to take control of a world you just need to drive off the other side for a time. It is sufficient to chase their ships off rather than aim a phaser at their warp core.

But people also should be cautious. If a few ships get damaged and a few shots are exchanged that can be paper over, even between somewhat bitter enemies. If it starts happening year after year then it will quickly escalate towards war.

Got it, boss. :)

And the only reason for it is this. EVERYONE would already know where these planets are if this was real life. Since we added this feature later I want to give you all time to get familiar with the map and have the basis of a plan before you start saying world X, Y and Z are going to be mine and so on.

It is just a concession to real life time constrations to give everyone about a week to make some general plans for something like this.
