Soemthing like a 20-25 foot job, I'd guess. Certainly no need for a duallie, but I'd absolutely 100% advise against a half-ton. Generally, a 150/1500 series truck could be rated to tow that much... but that's not including the trailer's fresh and grey water tanks (8 lbs./gallon,) propane, or luggage and passengers in the truck itself. An F-250/Ram 2500/Silverado 2500 will pull one of thise well; and what you think you'll lose in gas due to the bigger engine you'll make up in not straining the engine flat out all the time. For gas engines, especially if you're going with something a few years older, I'd avoid the Dodges and their transmissions.mwhittington wrote:Not so big that it requires a 1 ton chassis, but big enough to hold a family of 5 without feeling like a sardine.
