Quite a bit from "Chain of Command" and the "Wounded" as well as DS9. Cardies had enough time to be fleshed out, but I still thought of them pretty 2 dimensionally. Memory Alpha pretty much supports them as "baddies", but I was able to dig up some stuff on their motivies and history. With a poor world and a planet wide famine threating a people to whom family is everything, you can kind of start to see what happened.

I thought they were one of the few races that made sense. Them and the Klingons had a spiral effect from their history that led them to becoming so aggressive.

Agreed. Of all the races, the Ferengi make the least sense to me. You don't make money serving the government, but without a military they would have been rolled over easily. I get the quest for profit, but it would make sense if they had different classes.

You can, the key is to make yourself more valuable as a trading partner and provide a service (like the Swiss and Banking for instance) that is more valuable to all sides than what might be gained from conquering you.

Thanks for getting me a lot of sheets early. Helps a lot.

An FYI for this turn. I am adding the planetary shield calculator for you guys to put shields on major worlds. Major worlds are the only ones that can have shields on them. I also discovered that none of you have been charged for base or troop maint. since the game started and reconnected that part of the sheet. This will impact your economy quite a bit. To compensate I am likely going to advance you 1 category on development.

Ouch...

EDIT: I just checked my old ones, and all of them have the Ground Force Maint cost in the expense page. Or are you referring to something else?

I was going to say, I've been charged for Groundforce maintenance for the whole game as I recall.

As have I, but Big told me that while it showed on the expense page it didn't subtract. We should all check our sheets just incase.

just checked mine from last turn and my Ground Force costs were working between the Bases page and the income page, and were adding into my total expenses.

Mine are also coming out as far as I can tell. I still can't find the problem Big is talking about.

I don't see any disparity in mine, then again, as the Ferengi I had no real ground forces to speak of, and now I wouldn't notice it because I don't have any sheets as the Sheliak from before the change.

Cell K40 adds all the expense from your bases and maintaining troops you already have. That was not migrating to the front page only the cost of new troops and new starbases. The changed format will consolidate everything from that page in K-40 then move it to the front. You will see the mistake right away if you look at it that way.

If you say so....I fiddled around with my starbases and armament of the system and that changed the Groundforce maintenance cost on my income sheet and that was adding into my total expenses so...
