Thats just what happens when someone tries to con us of a deal -cough- Ferengi -cough-.
There is a difference between being conned and dealing with the Ferengi. They are in this only for profit. Others who might or might not sell you ships are likely doing so for a variety of reasons across the political and diplomatic scale. Those sales probably also have either openly stated or unwritten strings attached. For example the Federation would probably not look kindly if you bought ships from them and then decided to ethnically cleanse the Shelliak. The Klingons would likely gut you if you decided to use the ships to engage in piracy.

That is one thing you will get with the Ferengi. To them it is just a sale. It is priced to make a profit and there is really little motive beyond that. Unless you are openly shooting at them or very close to it they are going to sell you just about anything so long as they can make money.

sweet....I need something to do....no that was not an invitation to create some new issue for me to deal with.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Good point. Come to think of it, the Romulans right now have nothing to complain about Fed wise.

Though we could create a bunch of defensive pacts, then get into a war and bring everyone else in... now that would be messy. WWI, Trek style.

You should go for it. Mix things up a bit, could be really fun to see everyone lashing each other.

Lets see. You could get the Breen with you. And the Cardies against you. The Gorn may help the Cardies. Then I'd join in helping the Gorn. Then the poor Feds are in the middle of a mess.

Now for the Sheliak and Reliants peeps...
