These types don't deliver too much poison - only enough to stun a very small fish. The effects we suffered were a burn, similar to a very bad sunburn but in a localized area, followed by a few hours of tenderness sensitivity, and "pins and needles."

The closest I've come was a little group of absolutely tiny jellyfish out of priddys hard near a group of derelict freighters in Portsmouth harbour. Creepy things.

Yep. The reisdual itch is caused by an anticoagulant toxin which allows the mosquito to keep feeding when the blood would normally clot.

Yep, the nematocysts won't lose their potency until they naturally decay, and they are fired by mechanical triggers rather than an effort on the part of the beastie. Doesn't help that those particular tentacles can be measured in dozens of meters if not more.

No, jellyfish are Cnidarians and are their own life form as much as any other complex life composed of cells are. Jellyfish are really simple though. An easy way to think of them is their organized up to having tissues but really no further.

Well, today we are remodeling the parents bedroom, basically we'll be up there all day, and I am going to be beyond sore at the end of the day. But I guess it'll be worth it. We are remodeling entirely, taking out the bed and remaking it, and redoing the floor, everything, this is not going to be fun.

Some of them, but they are a separate group entirely, just having the same appearance. The portogese men-o'-war is in fact a collection of organisms as far as I remember, made op of four different organisms sticking together.
