You're going back to the ship after shooting the Commander down?
You're either very brave, or very stupid.

"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"

I'm always in trouble. But since Rochey said, "I relieve you of your rank of lieutenant and of your membership of Starfleet." any trial would be public, creating diplomatic trouble. And even if it wasn't a public trial, I have plenty of friends that would get the information out. I can handle myself, don't you worry. I've been in tougher situations.

Rochey wouldn't have the authority to pernamentlly remove you from Star Fleet, just relieve you from duty.
And if you commit a crime in the military and get discharged for whatever reason, then the crime is discovered you'd still go to a military court since the crime happened when you were in the military.

But should it come to the public's attention what happened the political fallout could be devestating. And I think that other officers would also be in trouble for their actions on this mission. Monroe, shot a fellow crewman, Rochey ordered the equivilent of death for a child, and then risked the mission on day 2 by taking the child to the officials, which would've been traced back to a Starfleet officer due to the application and blow the whole covert mission.
I think there are many aspects of the mission that can be swept under the carpet. And I still have an ace or two up my sleeve.
