Damn, I've got to get my head in gear with my Cardassian/Ferengi battle
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

I think it would have required cheating for my last turn to have come out any better.

Well, as everyone can see, my attempts have been a spectacular failure... maybe I'm going about this the wrong way.

Anyone have any clue on how to deal with a secret agency that keeps progress away?

I believe to get rid of the Tal Shiar would require massive house cleaning of the Romulan government apparatus and military. Probably the only way to really effectively get rid of them is to kill anyone involved, but being the Tal Shiar, they're probably three steps ahead of you.

Well at least you fully understand the problem. Now I need solutions. I really don't want to follow the "If you can't beat 'em" philosophy.

Look into how Hitler did it with the SA. Basically the only way to clean out something like that is to have the military do the nasty work then hope you can wean them off over time.

However the point is that you are not going to make this change without lots of blood and instability. Your economy will essentially collapse due to the change in systems, much like the Soviet one did when it changed over. You also don't have to change, you could just by a typical, nasty, Romulan.

I agree with that last part from Big. I think its time for you to start playing "In Character". Rather then fighting them, just be better then them at their own game. Once you get there they'll be happy to join your team. I was on an edge of trouble with my Empire for a while as well. The trick is that you have to accept that whatever you do is going to take a VERY long time. These one or two turn plans of yours just won't cut it.

Thank you for the frank criticism...

Maybe I am jumping the gun anyway. Its not like the people have demanded change... yet. Oh well, experiments are fun I guess.
