I was happy with thoser esults as well... esp. since the early returns (100-200 of 1781 precincts reporting) showed Obama as much as ten points behind Edwards, and eight behind Clinton.
On the GOP side, I would have liked to see McCain do better. But, that's really immaterial to me.

I wonder if Edwards will have the guts to hold on. Its going to be a tough ride. He's the only thing stopping Obama and Clinton from joining. Though, it wouldn't shock me to see who ever wins the nom to take the other as vice.Monroe wrote:Results are in and I'm happy:

Biden and Dobbs both droped out of the race. I liked Biden so hopefully get gets a good position in the administration.

IDK... I think they both have too strong a force of personality to fit together well.
I think NH will decide how much longer Edwards hangs around. Although, his youth, and his ability to reach those circles which Obama and Hillary don't, might make him a better veep candidate than either of the others.

Personally, I'm very happy with the results; McCain was never expected to do that well in Iowa (his support for immigration reform kind of did him in there), so a third place finish is actually quite good. What's more, since Huckabee really isn't a contender in New Hampshire, just having Romney beaten is projected to help McCain pull of a win there...right now, they're neck-in-neck.
On the Democratic side, Obama is probably me favorite of the Democrats, so I'm fairly happy with his victory.
So, overall; thumbs up, Iowa!

Well your not dead on but you are very close. HC holds sway in the midsouth and owns the bulk of the east coast. B.O. is most powerful in the west and has about equal sway in the mid south as HC. J.E. seems to have a little grip on the south east, west coast (where he is under B.O. in the polls but has used to pull ahead of H.C.) and for some odd reason he seems to lead up in the mid north. Though I don't know why.

Most manufacturing happens in the midnorth. And Edwards is the strongest against Corporations. So all of us who hate Corporate he really appeals which is a lot of the midnorth areas.Deepcrush wrote: and for some odd reason he seems to lead up in the mid north. Though I don't know why.
That'd be my guess for why he's doing so good in the midnorth. (though I'm thinking midnorth like the Ohio River states not midwestern north states)

Yeah. Over here we have the choice from between the two major bunches of idiots, or from one of the many small bunches of idiots.Reliant121 wrote:And our Political parties are either Boring, Useless or bumbly or disorganized. I have often said that the surest well to tell that someone doesn't belong in public office is by the fact that he wants to be in public office. We just try to choose the least of many evils.
