Re: Rogue Trader?
That's two explorators. We must be after some heavy-duty STC-type shit.

I could go for a navigator character.

Hey, it would be some awesome profit for us.Mikey wrote:That's two explorators. We must be after some heavy-duty STC-type s**t.
As a side note, when reading the rule book I saw in the Careers section that the GM is allowed to custom a Career Path. Either by adding skills and traits for someone or by just making a whole new path on his own.
I'm going to get to work transferring my characters over from DH and making whatever adjustments they may need. I hope to have them ready sometime tomorrow.

Re: Rogue Trader?
Did you read the bit that a 5000xp character is equal to a level 1 RT character? You can just take the xp required to get to 5000 and use the DH character path if you wish.

Yeah, thats what I meant by above. I'll take the 5k exp and then just rebuild my characters to RT standards.Deepcrush wrote:I'm going to get to work transferring my characters over from DH and making whatever adjustments they may need. I hope to have them ready sometime tomorrow.

Cool. I guess I'll take the 'Trader, unless Tyyr really had his heart set on it.Tsukiyumi wrote:I could go for a navigator character.
EDIT: ...which is cool if you do, BTW. I keep looking at the "seneschal" path, and I sort of like the idea of an assassin/spy/CFO. Must be the Jew in me.

I thought that was a job requirement for being a Rogue trader?Tyyr wrote:I'd be happy to take up the position of rogue trader but I don't know if anyone wants to serve under an amoral female trader one thin step from outright piracy.
Better to have the RT as a PC, otherwise the GM tells us where we are going, and what needs to be done. You also get the fun part of:Cpl Kendall wrote:Well we don't need to have one of each character class. I mean the RT could be an NPC.
Rogue Trader: "Men, we have been ordered to cleanse this town of heresy. From what we have seen, the entire town is to be considered corrupted and to be purged. You from the Imperial Guard know what this usually means - a firefight from house to house, cleaning out each floor, making sure there are no traps or secret doors, and being shot from every direction. Fortunately, I have another idea."
(she turns in one direction, and points at one of the bridge officers)
Rogue Trader: "Master of Ordnance, one shot at the target."
Master of Ordnance: "Aye Captain." (turns to underlings) "Look lively lads, the Captain wants a shot now. (various people run around, hauling a multi-megaton shell out of the Munitorium, and loading it in the gun.) "Shot ready Captain."
Rogue Trader: "Fire one!"
A single shot is fired, taking out the booby-trapped down with a multi-megaton warhead.
Rogue Trader: "Problem solved."
For characters, here are the main options:
Rogue Trader (so we decide where to go)
Arch-militant (combat type)
Astropath Transcendant (pychic comms, so when the radios go out, and all your gear is gone, you can still talk to the ship and call for help)
Explorator (for tech)
Missionary (faith stuff, convince crowds to follow you)
Navigator (needed for getting from place to place, can be an NPC)
Seneschal (we need a sneaky type)
Void Master (XO of the ship?)
Off hand, I'd recommend the Rogue Trader, Arch-militant, Explorator, Missionary, and Seneschal are required. We get control over the ship, combat power, technology/repair, Faith, and a neaky rogue type.

Works for me. I'll start working up a RT. It'll be a change for me to not be walking around with the biggest gun in the group.Mikey wrote:Cool. I guess I'll take the 'Trader, unless Tyyr really had his heart set on it.

Re: Rogue Trader?
Very good, I'll work on a seneschal later, unless someone has objections a/o thinks I need to make something else for the party.

Re: Rogue Trader?
So far we have a Rogue Trader, two Explorators and a Missionary? I think Seneschal would be fine, I'd rather have folks play what they are interested and I'll work around it.

Re: Rogue Trader?
Are we just going to use "rare" as our one choice, or should we wait until we get a proft factor and make a test for any availability?Cpl Kendall wrote:Now from here anyone can have any number of items of COMMON or below and feel free to pick one from RARE and below.
*EDIT* F***ing gas masks are harder then "common" to get.

Re: Rogue Trader General Disscussion
Gas masks aren't common? That's pretty damn dumb.
Once Tyyr has sorted out his character I'll have him roll for the Profit Factor (cause we're all basically sucking at his teat).
