In the Hun's defense, it was his archery skill that took the day. That was some damned impressive shooting from the demonstrator, and you can assume that the Hun was as good.

But I say no chance would those arrows have penentrated armor. Shot around armor yes, not not penetrating.

Agreed, Alexander's armor most likely could have shrugged off the arrows, but between the accuracy we saw and the amount of skin left open by said armor, the bow still has plenty of lethality.

The problem is that they have the Hunnic bow KILLING. This is a problem because the only open spots on Alexander that the arrows could hit are the upper arms or his feet. The upper arms are tough because he carried a shield. The feet are hard to hit because they move fucking fast!

Really, it was a pointless ep. They could have done great things with it... but instead they just trashed two of top leaders in history.

Well, Jesse James was trained as a confederate gurella (spelling) fighter before he became an outlaw, so I'd expect the training to go on his side.

I'd say James has the advantage in training and physical conditioning, but Capone has the advantage of tech.

I think the training and condition of James is over stated. They raided defenseless towns for the most part and spent very little time in real combat.

Jesse James lived in the mid to late 19th century. Capone lived in the era of the BAR and the Tommy gun. An easy outcome to anyone who understands even the most basic things about guns. Capone also had an armoured car, large sums of money, and a well run and organised group backing him up. Sorry, but James is outclassed in pretty much every category.

Plus, as Deep mentioned, James spent most of his time "fighting" targets that couldn't really defend themselves.

But AFAIK we are not taking about a "gang fight". We're talking about a one on one scrap. I'm not saying I disagree with Capone holding an early advantage, I just don't think it'll be as big a cake walk as everyone thinks. Capone was a gifted amature but never recieved any real military training, most of his wet work was done by his associates, and he was, first and foremost a businessman.

The Tommygun will be his most effective weapon easily, but the Tommygun is NOT the worlds most accurate piece. I saw a documentray on the reported first attempted hit with the tommygun, where the hitman unloaded the entire drum from a few feet away, and missed with every shot. The target was terrified that he retired from crime.

To be fair, most gunfights with Old West hardware occurred with the shooters within 10 - 20 yards of each other, if not closer, and still most shooters missed more than they hit. Bat Masterson was fond of saying that if you want to hit a man in the chest at ten paces, you need to aim at his crotch - and he was using the Colt SAA, the most advanced handgun of its time. In the Courtright/Short shootout in 1885, it's been said that Courtright's pistol muzzle became tangled in Short's watch chain - and Short's first shot missed the target (Courtright's torso) but luckily struck him in the thumb of his shooting hand; while Courtright, an experienced and accurate shot, missed completely (albeit firing left-handed after a border switch.)

Further, James' military training would have been with a muzzle-loading rifled musket and a bowie knife or Arkansas toothpick, with a SLIGHT chance of having some experience with a captured Sharps breech-loader and possibly a cap-and-ball revolver. Unless he got his hands on a captured Union Henry or Spencer, his Confederate service would have afforded him no experience with a metallic-cartridge weapon - and even if he got his hands on one of those, his experience would have been limited to whatever cartridges were captured along with it. The South couldn't provide ammo for those guns.
