I'd like to see that movie sometime. It's called Der Untergang ( Downfall in English) and it's about the last ten days of Adolf Hitlers life, roughly as described by some people who were there but that didn't get executed or whatever. Humor aside, the actor obviously does a solid job.

Anyway I liked this song and video, so I thought I'd share

EDIT: I seem to recal that Youtube is screening stuff so members outside of the US can't see stuff like this. Is there some other similar service for the other side of the pond?

It's excellently done. Solid acting and characterisation from all the cast. One of the best WW2 movies I've seen.

And you can find anything on Youtube.

Here is video, I'm not sure how old it is, but it's from a 4th of July Concert by the San Francisco Philharmonic narrated by George Takei

Confused Matthew reviews 2001: A Space Odyssey

He basically sums up all the problems I have with the movie.

And funnily enough, just today I found a rebuttal by this guy which basically shreds Matthew's review into little itty bitty pieces.

Yeah, I agree about HAL, sort of, I don't think he's the most intimidating or anything of the sort. But I do believe he was the best Robot gaining human characteristics character out there.

Lol, one of the things the shredding points out is that during the whole "HAL Sequence", 2001 adopts a lot of the themes and conventions of the horror movie genre - sealed off environment which you can't escape from, malevolent and powerful opponent stalking you, etc. This is the one part of the movie that Confused Matthew says he likes, the one part that has a story that he can latch on to.

On his website, guess what Genre of movies Confused Matthew says he will never review... because he just doesn't understand that genre...

Yup. You guessed it. Horror movies. :)
