What movie to see?

Post by sunnyside »

I might be able to catch a movie at a theater in a couple weeks (very rare given my married with children status). I was wondering what people would suggest as a must see. Ideally something that's worth seeing on the big screen as opposed to waiting for the DVD.

The only movie that's out now that I've seen is Avatar, which I would highly suggest seeing in the theater while you still can. It's better than you'd expect, and while seeing it in a theater in 3D is pretty cool, I'm not sure how good it'll be when experienced through a laptop screen and earbuds.

So Avatar was that good? I also heard The Lightning Thief was another good one. Due to my disgustingly busy schedule, I had to miss out on both of these. Though it was somewhat rediculous. Lightning was only out for like a week and a half.

There is a reason for that.

Do yourself a favor... go for The Hurt Locker instead.

Or "The Green Zone", it's pretty good too.
Unlike what the trailers seemed to make it out to be, it's not another version of Bourne, but a different kind of movie...

The only films I'm even remotely excited about this year are Predators and Tron: Legacy.

Shutter Island isn't bad. Not best movie of the year good but it'll cover a couple of hours for you.

Yeah, that looked cool as well, but I'll wait for the DVD... to be released.

Another tip: Dear John.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0989757/
basically the story of tow people who come to love each other, another one as many others, but this has an interesting story about Autism also. But as I am inclined to think, autism is a bit vague in this one, inclining more to Asperger's and 'classic autism'.

Don't go see Repo Man. Better to wait for it come out DVD and rent it. Decent movie, but not worth the ticket.
