Nice. Here in a decade or so, those might be in my price range. :)

SO got bit by a spider about 8 hours ago. Overall have taken 4 Benadryll (the only anti-histamine I can take without violent side effects). As it is, I cannot walk up a flight of stairs without my vision going black. I really should carry an epi-pen...

F*ck all that; go to an emergency room and sign your name as John Hancock.

No idea, it ended up as a pile of squish.

And I can't take antivenins, unless they have oral ones. My fear of needles is greater than my fear of death... and pretty much most other ones too.

Besides, the Benadryl keeps me tickin... just makes me a bit tired. Though this is the worst its been in a long time. But as long as I don't exert myself, I'm fine.

Sorry, that would take too much time. I only had an hour before I needed to proctor a test (I get paid to read tests to students).

Go now, then.

 I feel stupid.

Though now wouldn't do much good. The venom has been floating around my blood for a long while.

And at this point it is no longer life threatening, as long as I don't exert myself (ie, walking up and down stairs more than once without a rest).

Hey, I'm not stupid, I go to hospitals when I need to, once for asthma attack, like, couldn't breath at all, and once for dehydration because I was unable to drink anything without feeling like throwing up, so they put me on a drip and all was better.

It's not nearly as bad as bob's, he once actually turned purple because of hyperventilating.

Thank goodness I don't have that problem, as I now am getting blood drawn for tests about once every three months... oh yay!

Well, it does to your estate...

Actually, Stitch, I'm a little confused. Are you allergic to spider venom, over and above the "normal" effects? Brown recluses are very non-aggressive, and ususally aren't this far north; and your sypmtoms aren't consistent. Two species of black widow can be found around here, and muscle rigidity can lead to what you describe, but they are also generally non-aggressive. Brazilian travelling spiders can be rarely found near any port in the world, but you'd be dead by now; in any event, you'd know if the spider that bit you was bigger than your forearm.

Yes he is. Any spider bites him and he has a bad reaction.
