okay...makes sense
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Ok, written reports are out. Again, if you are not getting much to read it is because you did not do intel so you don't know much beyond what you are doing. For some powers their reports are 3 single spaced typed pages of info. For others it is a page with lots of spaces between. You get what you pay for.
A lot happened this turn. News tonight hopefully.

Do we have anyone representing the Kazon?

No, they are a non-player race (I can't imagine why anyone would want to play that mess). In reality they don't matter much (there is a reason the Borg did not assimilate the morons after all) and I suspect they are about to be slapped around like a 3 dollar hooker. Against a proper military force they are not likely to last more than a few minutes in battle. They are just too stupid to realize they might possible run up against more than a couple of exploratory ships and are not much more than a large somewhat organized band of pirates.Sonic Glitch wrote:Do we have anyone representing the Kazon?
As for the larger implications of the wormhole...well I think most of you can connect the dots on that one.
Someone asked how exploration worked. It was not largely explained so that players who engaged in it (and more has been found than just this wormhole certainly) of their own free will could be rewarded first. All you have to do is designate a fleet as exploratory and assign ships to it. The thing is you can't get those ships back right away since many will be a long way from home. The rule of thumb is you get 1/3rd back each year if you recall them, this assumes most ships are on 5 year missions either inbound or outbound. The more ships you send out the better your chances of finding something.

The KDF will be patrolling the whole area, both in and out of the system. As well as setting up check points on both sides of the wormhole. AND I DO MEAN CHECK POINTS! Not a bunch of uber Starbases or at least not for now since they aren't needed and I don't want to spend the money.Lt. Staplic wrote:(cntd from ic thread)

Deep, the Gorn Imperial Navy has dispatched a task force to do our part in securing/transporting through the wormholeDeepcrush wrote:The KDF will be patrolling the whole area, both in and out of the system. Then we'll divide the duties between us. The Gorn, with having slower ships, can guard the BQ side of the wormhole. The Klingon Defense Force will guard the DQ side.Sonic Glitch wrote:Deep, the Gorn Imperial Navy has dispatched a task force to do our part in securing/transporting through the wormhole

And the Romulans will sit by and watch, because that is rather far from our space and we don't feel our presence would be of much use.
So... what are our chances of finding the Borg? Or someone else who could kill us all if we aren't careful.

Like Species 8472, The Hirogen, The Vidians, the Swarm... etc, etc, etc,stitch626 wrote: So... what are our chances of finding the Borg? Or someone else who could kill us all if we aren't careful.

Re: Star Trek Sim discussion
Being on the Kazon side of the DQ, we're pretty safe from the Borg. At least from the wormhole that is, seeing how they can travel from their space to the Typhon system in just about two years.
More then likely, we'll run into Kazon, Hirogen and Vidians at some point (again). However, none of them will be to much of a worry.

Re: Star Trek Sim discussion
I'll clear this up again here because I was misunderstood before....I'm not giving up the wormhole or it's defense...I have worked out a deal with the Gorn that they will help to defend the wormhole on the BQ terminus...I will have defenses on the DQ side as well, but nothing to serious is needed because anyone that comes near will either be no match for my defenses or will be the Borg in which case I don't want to invest large resources to have them destroyed....
As for ships traveling through for trade, the minimal to appropriate levels of escorts will be permitted to accompany the freighters, and will be required to check in at both stations on both ends of the wormhole (all in all this is mostly for big's purposes, trading isn't directly controlled so no one on here has to worry much about this.)

Re: Star Trek Sim discussion
The Borg are a days travel at transwarp speeds from the DQ terminus of the wormhole; while this is close, i don't forsee any major issue because of the Borg's lack of interest in the Kazon....if we stay low the Borg won't notice it at all. Also IIRC the Hirogen are on the other side of Borg space from the Kazon so we probably don't have to worry too much about them.Deepcrush wrote:Being on the Kazon side of the DQ, we're pretty safe from the Borg. Re: Star Trek Sim discussion
The Borg are an odd issue.
Their transwarp hub was destroyed. We don't know how fast they can travel now. We also don't have any idea what sort of damage was done to their collective mind by the virus implanted by Janeway and the potential destruction of the Queen at the conclusion of Voyager.
For the purpose of the sim their status is determined by a series of die rolls I need to do and then would be modified by player actions. They could be drasitcally weakened by what happened or they could be unaffected. IF they still exist in proper form the time, manner and numbers of their arrival would again be randomly determined.
