Yeah, most people would be shocked to know there's only a two-week course to get a CDL. That's what happens when your country is short a few hundred thousand drivers. :?

You mean to say truck drivers don't really have the Navitron Autodrive system that they had in the Simpsons? Any time a truck did a random maneuver I always put it down to a software glitch!
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!

I think that's just for a class "A," and then additional course work for other classes. However, those courses are also pretty expensive.

People who call your deskphone (at work, obviously) realise they've dialed the wrong number and then ask you if you can put them through to the correct one or worse still, demand you find out the correct number for them in the directory...

GRRR I hate that. Whats worse, we've got one lazy bastard that KNOWS he's calling the wrong number, but since he's been with the company so long and one of the highest producing salesmen, he'll just dial whomever and get them to arbitrarily transfer him.

Managers even do it.

Me? I intentionally mistransfer the schmuck.

Ok, my turn.

my student club has several different structures of organization for its members. ON of these is a group which is comprised of multiple years, being called a 'boot'. There are several of those structures, and providing they organize a big honking party at least once a year, they are allowed to continue their existance. One of these structures will organize a party for 11th of march. It has the bizarre theme of psychiatric care.

THOSE FUCKING IDIOTS DECIDED IT WAS A BLOODY GOD JOKE TO SEND LETTERS TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT CLUB WITH FAKE DIAGNOSES OF VARIOUS PSYCHIC ILLNESSES, SOME OF THEM REAL, SOME OF THEM MADE UP AND DECIDED THAT WAS A GOOD WAY OF ATTRACTING PEOPLE TO THE BLEEDIN' PARTY!

As it happens, I have Asperger syndrome nd when i eard i got slapped wth another diagnosis, I freaked out, considerin that no adequate reasons were given in said letter to support my diagnosis, then immediately deciding to prescribe medication. Symptoms of said medication were fatigue, nauseae, headaches, lethargic moods, diminished attention spans and loss of motor skills due to shaking limbs.

THOSE IDIOTS DECIDED THAT IT WAS FUN TO SLAP A FAKE DIAGNOSTIC ONTO PERSONS USING THE LOGO OF MY MENTAL HEALTH CARE INSTITUTE, TO IMPOSE TREATMENT WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF COMPLAINING AND HEAVY MEDICATION FOR THAT MATTER.

I all turned out to be a joke, as you read, but you can also read that I am 'not amused', to say the least. Let alone that health care institute, I notified them of misusing their logo in the letters, so this may get a rather sick twist. it is, by far, one of the worst jokes played on me, ever. And it wasn't funny.

You're right... not funny at all. If the fake diagnoses were so outrageous or full of blather so as to be obviously a joke, that would be different. Well, I guess these pranksters will see how the lawsuit turns out.

I just drew an un offical reprimand from HR for borderline sexual harassment. We have a pregnant female janitor who came around the corner and heard me say to another guy "double tap". She got offended thinking I was referring to "tappin' that ass" twice, when I was actually talking about shooting. She didn't say anything to me or the guy I was talking too, just made a beeline for HR.

So, apparently now before I engage in a conversation I have to start peeking around corners. :bangwall:

Did you inform the HR idiots that "double tap" is a shooting term? As in: "Double tap to the chest and one to the head." which is the prescribed method for shooting a single opponent.

Ignorant jackasses.

Ugh, stuff like this annoys me, even beyond just the fact that she totally misunderstood you. If you are that easily offended, you have no place living in the real world. Borderline sexual harassment? What a load of BS. Harassment is saying stuff to a woman she doesn't want to hear, and that you keep saying to her even after she tells you to stop. Someone catching a piece of a conversation you're having with someone else and calling it harassment is absurd. Unless you the other guy were yelling it across the room, she should have just ignored it, whatever she thought you were talking about.

Tsuki--yes, I tried. Thats when they told me I've got to be more careful what I'm talking about and making sure who's around.

Lighthawk--We are SO on the same page. Even if we WERE talking sex, it was an A and B conversation, not involving her at all. This will sound awful, but I think she's overly hormonal and bitchy.

From a legal stand point it falls under the "Hostile Work Environment" provision. The idea being that harassment doesn't have to be knowingly directed at an individual. Instead by the general environment created a harassing nature can be created. The idea would be in this case that Mark's misconstrued comments could create the feeling that the men in the office only see the women as potential conquests.

When it comes to business today a company has to do things like that. If they did nothing, just blow it off or tell the woman she was imagining things and to lighten up they could get in trouble on down the road. If the woman sues and brings up this incident the company will have to explain why it didn't take any action and dismissed a sexual harassment claim out of hand.
