Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Our fourth snow storm of the season has arrived. Our second one in four days. Though they still don't know how much snow we're picking up this time around. Some stations say 6", some are saying as high as 18".

I'm damned near comatose at the moment. I've been pulling twelve hour days at work since thursday....had two dates this weekend...my daughters 3rd birthday party...and a "guest" that was at my place last night till one am. I can barely function

Snow started last night around 7pm EST. As of 1pm EST we've picked up about 8''. Nasty winds, wet snow and 28* so we're expecting to lose power tonight when everything refreezes around 10*.

Learning to read Middle English is a pain, not to mention trying to pronounce it. To say the least. No wonder nobody speaks it anymore.

No, I am trying to read whatever they were speking in arund 1200, being a nice mis-mash of Danish, French, English, and whatever there already was on the isles. Add to that that the format being presented is a pain to read as well. Poems easily getting 3000 lines, with little character development and the like.
Though I do like the course, sometimes frustration boils up. The best way to describe the process of reading and trying to understand it is imagining a mediaval crop field, and you being the plow which is to turn over the stubborn Anglo-Saxon soil.
