Because there's not enough slide guitar in modern pop: Cage the Elephant
Some random blasts from the past:
Defintitely NSFW: IDK what the hell the deal is with the Pokemon video, but it almost works. Anyway, here's Mindless Self Indulgence - "Bitches"
Does anyone remember when Sugar Ray was a rock band, instead of pop sellouts? Here's RPM
Perhaps the greatest punk band ever, with one of their mellower but most moving songs: Bad Religion - "Struck a Nerve"
From a founder of American punk, modern poet, and generally nice guy, Henry Rollins: Monster
The queens of the riot grrrls... 7 Year Bitch - "The Scratch"
OK, goth's past its prime, but I still like these guys (and the chick's voice is killer -) Cradle of Filth - "Nymphetamine"
And some nice local New Jersey boys, The Misfits: Die, Die my Darling (the original one with Glenn Danzig singing
Last Caress
Teenagers from Mars

Some AMV's actually do a pretty good job. Some are fucking incredible. Nothing I've seen lately though has been more than random Naruto or Bleach scenes strung together in a totally disjointed manner over music they barely have anything to do with.Defintitely NSFW: IDK what the hell the deal is with the Pokemon video, but it almost works. MSI kicks ass.

The official video for Tool's Vicarious.
Warning: this video may be too bizarre and awesome for some viewers.
