It's the part of the hard drive that's being used. most often it's labeled as C:

Well, the last week or so I've been sick.

Started with a sore throat and cold on Thursday. That got worse and worse over the weekend, and by monday had developed into a bad cough - I usually do get all three together when I get one. I took Monday and Tuesday off work and lay on the couch trying to cough a lung up.

Wednesday I cracked to the guilt and went back to work. Big mistake. I coughed so hard in front of my form group in the morning that I actually puked up a little - managed to get to a window, fortunately. I made it through the day, somehow, went home and slept like four hours, then straight to sleep that night without trouble.

I thought about staying off on Thursday, but went in anyway. And the guy who sits at the desk next to mine in the office was also sick now. He went home; we heard today that he has H1N1. So now I am wondering if I had it and didn't know what it was, and passed it on to him, or did he get it independently, and if so has he passed it on to me?

Anyway, one way and another it has not been a great week.

Tis the time for sickness. I've had a bad cough the last week and some days, that deep, rattling kind. Gave it to the wife of course, got to share.

Oh and my computer snagged a bug too, nice little sneaking something that kept letting in other bugs. My anti-virus was able to sweep up the additional buggers, but the actual problem program was too deep or sneaky or something for it to find until I got a new update.

And just incase illness wasn't enough, a few days ago was epic. Woke up to a cat fight that was a true knock down, drag out affair. Our two female cats have never really liked each other, but usually they just hiss, maybe get into a tumble, but it usually breaks up fast.

Not this time, they were both out for blood. They went racing all over the place, hissing, spitting, and making the most god awful sounds you can imagine. It finally took a spray bottle and several good blasts of water in the face of both to just split them up.

And that's when things actually got worse. The cats were glaring at each other from opposite sides of the room, so me and wife figured we'd better get them out of sight of each other. My wife picked up one and was carrying her out when the other darted around me and leapt onto my wife, climbed up her side, and proceeded to attack the other.

Lucky for said cat, she jumped down and ran off before I reached her, cause I'm not sure I wouldn't have punched her little head in at that moment. The wife now has a nice line of claw marks up her leg, side, and arm.

Oh, and then she burned herself today making breakfast. I think I'm quite done with November.

A partition is a section of disk space. All disks are partitioned in every operating system. Even if the drive only contains one logical disk. The basic hierachy is as follows:

Code: Select all

+------------------------------------+
| Physical disk |
| +-----------------------------+ | Physical disks contain one or more partitions.
| | Partition | | A partition can contain one or more Logical disks.
| | +------------------------+ | |
| | | Logical disk | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | +------------------------+ | |
| | | |
| +-----------------------------+ |
| |
+------------------------------------+
A logical disk is what you think of as a drive (like C: or D:)

That's partially why I made my own this year. :)

Don't you just hate it when it feels like someone is purposely avoiding you.

Thats how it feels anyway. I'm probably overreacting, as I have a habit of doing, but it certainly feels like it.

Last night I had a really bad dream, I then woke up at 3 and couldn't fall back asleep. It's kind of funny though, because my dream wasn't scary like most people would find scary. It was someone else was being attacked by something and I couldn't help in any way, and it scared the crap out of me.

Fear of being powerless to help. I can relate. :(
