Sorry.
If its any consolation XP isn't being handed out for kills but the mission as a whole.

Right, aim and single shot at #6. I've not got access to the rulebook right now, so let me know if I fuck something up.
Bs: 50 + 10 (aim) + 10 (red dot) = 70
Roll: 11
Location: Head
Damage: 9+5 = 14 -2 = 12
-5 - 12 = -17
Boom goes his head.

11 is the right arm I believe. Not the head. Of course you could just make it a called shot to the head in which case the head still goes boom!

Wouldn't matter. Dead is dead.

Pretty much, he's dead the only difference is the way the viscera is distributed.

I guess we're back on narrative time? After SG posts up his kill-shot, I'll post about landing on the far shore and checking the area.

Yup, back to narrative time.
Which means I'm going to have to get up on it and get my fortress map on the computer and posted up ASAP.

Re: Adeptus Astartes RP comments.
OK, judging by the map I should easily be able to get to a spot about due south of the stand of trees on the west bank in about47 meters, or another 39 considering my last move. That's under my full all-out move rate of 48. I'm going to land over there and check the area. Awareness test, target of 51, roll of 71. I boned it, but do the sight and hearing auspexes from the armor add anything?

I think they count as heightened senses which add +10 to test on those skills. You see the ground smeared with bits and pieces of splattered orks and not much else.

The mountain pass looks beautifully blockable, though. I presume we're coming in from the south-east corner of the map, right?
So, Mikey, shall we put our plan into action?

Yes, the path the orks were following out came from the south east corner. Note the elevations though.

Any point on the trail where it compresses is a good spot for a Frag trap. Also the switch backs as you'll get a lot more orks in every blast. As well as the main gate since they'll body pile.
