In the UK knackered is tiered, however, knackers (note the plural) is slang for testicles. Which, as Sionnarch says, is somewhat different from Ireland. Actually, thinking about it it's quite fitting

Well, I've been stuck in an elevator for nearly an hour this morning. Security just managed to get me out about 15 minutes ago. Nothing like being locked in an elevator when one has to use the "facilities".

There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

That unfortunate! Why would security be the ones to let you out, did they lock you in there for some reason? I would expect it to be someone with more technical nature.Mark wrote:Well, I've been stuck in an elevator for nearly an hour this morning. Security just managed to get me out about 15 minutes ago. The independant elevator company couldn't get there for several hours. Security has the key to manually open the elevator doors. They opened it up, and pulled me out (was stuck between floors). Nice guys, really. They couldn't see leaving me there till the elevator people got there.

Alright...
In TV production 1, 1st period, this kid and I got into an argument. He said that he thinks that SHADOWS are stalkers from a "second dimension".
I spent the entire period and today 1st period explaining that they aren't. then finally, he says to my "Well, maybe your a shadow that took over a Mexican kid," I'm white as... well... ya know when it snows, then there is a bright sunny day, yah whiter than that snow, "named Phillipe," my name being Philip, "who's just sticking' up for the shadows" that's what i was doing after that

Shadows are stalkers... from the second dimension...
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
