Ugh, got a friend auditioning for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She's nervous. I'm, nervous for her. I wish I could fly out to Utah and give her a hug. :(

Had our second code red of the year. For those of us not in the US, that means lock down. Students and teachers seal themselves in their rooms. Making my rounds for the code red, I had a student try to push past a teacher saying while looking at me "If its safe enough for him to be out there then why can't I be out there!?" I just wanted to kick him in the balls and say "thats why".

What prompted a lock-down? Can't say I've ever experienced one of them over here. I don't think we even have drills on them. :?

Aye, but what are they for? I can't really imagine any situation that would require a lock-down.

Any number of things, from natural disaster, our school is also our disaster shelter, as well as gunman in the school, and also something else that I can't remember ATM, but yeah, all we do are drills during the year though.

Hm. I can understand it during a disaster of some sort, but I don't see how it would help if there was a gunman in the school. Surely it'd be better to simply evacuate the school in that instance?

Last time it was a firearm. Don't know what it was this time.

Well, our police and MPs handle the gunman part. If need be then we evacuate. It all depends on what is happening. If it is happening outside then we want the kids to stay inside.
