:lol: I know. Trust me, I'll make do with my twin bolt pistols. I just figured if assault marines in tabletop can take a plasma pistol, someone would have addressed that in these rules. I'd rather have the semi-auto fire anyway.

Oh Tyyr, you didn't answer my question about strapping a chain blade or maybe a great weapon to my heavy bolter.

Yeah, been killer busy.

Ok, Rochey, long las. SM wouldn't bother with a pissant las weapon. I believe the scouts use silenced single shot bolters. I'll post stats along with all the other weapons.

Deep. I don't have anything totally against the chainblade. It'll count as your melee weapon though and it will be unwieldy.

Revising character creation rules. It's going to be a +10 across the board. Simpler. Also if you want any cross class talents you can discuss them here. General rule is that you would have to have been able to get by the 7,000 XP in one of the SM career paths and you'll pay double for getting it. Sorry but I'm still working these rules out in my own head. You guys are essentially going through beta development with me on this.

Thats fine with me. I still have to pick a back up weapon then. Not sure if I want a bolt pistol or plasma pistol.

So should I edit my stats that I didn't run the +10 to?

Also, does that "double price" mean as a Dev I can take an Assault skill?

Yes.

Yes. You're a marine who is good enough to be assigned to the Deathwatch. I don't think it's too unbelievable that you've received some additional training. Don't go crazy with it, only a handful of skills.

Oh shit, wait. I don't have chain weapon skill. I'll just take an attached great weapon. That way, if I have to drop my heavy bolter, I'm not without a melee weapon.

...doh. I can't take power weapon yet. Got the wrong advance table. Still you can take chain weapons since its available to assault marines at our level though it'll cost you 200 XP.

Cool, now I only need 175xp more and I'm there! Though to be honest I'd rather pick up swift attack and lighting attack.

Going over the numbers. I'm going to take an Astartes Bold Pistol and a few grenades. The plasma seems nice but its just to underpowered. Plus I like the double tap option.
