Buck
0003

The thunder of gunfire was deafing in the closed space of the sewer. Both Buck and the lead ork exchanging hastey shots. The ork round merely grazed Buck's arm, tearing only a shallow groove in the ogryn's beefy bicep. The ork however gave a bellow of pain as the flesh of it's leg was ripped open by Buck's weapon, splashing xeno blood to splattering on the walls. Behind the lead ork, the other beast snarled and snapped a wickedly hooked chain against the walls, but could not come at the ogryn while it's fellow blocked it's path.

Mir looked about the room for anything interesting. In a back alcove he notices a wooden chest. When he heard footsteps outside he hustled toward's the chest's alcove, pressing himself into it trying to hide.

The footsteps slow, and then stop just outside the chapel. After a moment of silence, the creek of the door hinges can be heard.

"Is someone in here?" Atella's voice calls out, a hint of uncertainty in her tone.

Another roar shakes the building, and Atella mutters a curse. Her footsteps pound out of the room and quickly fade into the distance.

Mir breathes a sigh of relief and steps forward to examine the padlock on the chest.

Oddly enough, the chest seems entirely untouched by the desacration of the rest of the chapel. It is plainly made but solid, with the only mark upon it being the symbol of the Cult of the Emporer above the key hole in the lock.

In return for the scratch on his arm. Buck reaches in to cut apart the Ork. Swinging his ripper gun about at the crippled green thing in front of him. Had the stubborn Ork not raised his weapon and fired, Buck thought himself sure to have killed the green skin. Instead, Buck had to twist his bulk to avoid being ripped by shell. "Stu'pid green thingy die!" Buck howled. Angered by the Ork's fighting back. Smacking away the Ork's gun. Buck used his ripper to upper cut the Ork. The ripper lived up to its name as it cut the Ork from groin to sternum. Ork blood painting the ceiling above the battling beasts. "THINGY DIE NOW!" Buck howled out as he brought his weapon back down on the Ork's collar bone. The ripper cut down across the Orks torso, its ribcage pushing the ripper to the side and out from its arc. The Ork's arm fell to the ground, with shoulder, ribs and part of the collar bone with it. The Ork fell, a full third of his chest missing and blood pouring out as if a river.

Buck went to cheer himself, his hands raised as he roared. A mistake if ever. A second Ork reached at him with some funny looking rope. It must have been sharp since it ground against Buck's armor. "Ah! Bad!" Buck paused for a split second, stepping back half a pace. "NO! YOU DIE TOO!"

Buck

The chain wielding ork had only a moment to stare stupidly as his weapon failed to even faze his target. His last sight was the end of Buck's gun, a blur of motion, and then all was dark.

The Ork stopped, fear! Buck smelled fear! Or he smelled something that happened from fear....... Then he forgot what he was thinking about. This place smells. Kill green thing then go somewhere better. Buck rushed forward. His left hand gripping the skull of the second Ork. His fingers crushing inwards against the bone. "I TELL YOU YOU DIE NOW!" Buck's right arm drove the ripper into the Ork just above the waist. At first, there was pressure against Buck's power... then it fell away. Flesh and bone and bile... all soft. Now nothing, there was nothing. The ripper had punched through the ork's heavy armor and out the other side, through even more armor. Buck's arms pulled apart as hard and as quickly as possible. There was a horrible tearing sound, flesh and metal. Almost a demon's scream. The Ork's body, torn by bloody ungiving force, split at the waist. BUCK SCREAMED OUT... a roar without understanding... so deep it defies reason, so loud it shook the walls around him. Buck was a demon to himself now, and he loved it!

Buck released his grip in time to watch the upper half smash into the wall, the spine and skull shattered from the impact. The lower half just fell to the ground, limp and lifeless... or not. The left leg started shaking. Buck's roar turned from blood lust to laughter, though it lost none of its volume. "EM'PER! HE DEAD AND STILL SHAKE IN FEAR! FEAR FOR DA EM'PER!"

Buck
0004

Buck's final bellowed praise to the Emporer echoed deeply though the sewer tunnels, going on and on. Slowly though, the echos faded, and the blood grew cold upon his skin. Soon enough, there was only the cold, and the wet slosh of the running water. Buck found himself to be standing by a junction of two tunnels, his choices to either go straight on ahead or to either side.

When the Sister left Mir considered the strong box again. Seeing how strong the lock was he decided not to bother with it. He hauled back with the butt of his Spectre and smashed the wood around the lock. His arms were jarred by the impact and the butt of the rifle slide off the wood with no effect. Growling low in his throat he aimed for a corner of the lid and fired two rounds into it, splintering the wood so he could grab the edges and rip the wood back to get at the contents.

Reaching through the sizable hole, Mir felt around a second before his hand found something, cold and hard. His fingers closed about it, and when he pulled it free he found himself gripping an anchient and battered sword. It seemed to be little more than a piece of junk, tarnished and dull edged, the grip wound in stained leather, without even a cross guard.

As he drew it forth though, Mir felt the pommel pulse under his fingers, and an echo of that sensation rebounded back from the Chaos symbols upon the walls.

"...if this ain't it I'll eat it." Stuffing the sword in his backpack Mir scanned the chapel for a rear exit.

There was a door in the rear of the chapel, but it lead only to a small room with a thin bed and book shelf.
