Oh relax, it just means you only find the obvious. There's a big chest in an alcove in the back. Solid, padlocked, about 1.5 meters long, and 1/2 meters deep and tall. And while you're searching, make an awareness.

OH CRAP! A pair of ork. Can't charge and already had the gun up. Firing on the ork to closest to me.

BS 29 + aimed 10 + close range 10 = BS 49 / Rolled 68... DAMN!

I'd say you're more likely at point blank, +30. You and the lead ork literally walked into each other.

Distance: 1 meter
Weapon: Big gun
Armor and Toughness
Head: 2+4=6
Body: 3+4=7
Arms: 0+4=4
Legs: 2+4=4

Ork 2
HP: 15
Distance: 2 meters
Weapon: Spikey chain whip
Armor and Toughness
Head: 0+3=3
Body: 6+3=9
Arms: 0+3=3
Legs: 0+3=3

Not quite, we do critical damage for the mobs in this game. He's certainly hurt, but not yet out.

Ork 1 will return fire in kind: 30 bs, +30 for pointblank=60, rolls 12. You may try for a dodge.
Ork 2 will bellow and stomp about in frustration as the narrow tunnel means he can't attack you because his companion is in the way.

Ork 1

And just to give a proper sense of tension, I'm going to say there is a 50/50 chance of Atella either checking out the chapel, or continuing back on to join the fight.

Tyyr, pick a range for her to decide she's wasting time looking around.
