What's the latest in people's lives?
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
And I didn't even notice. Hmm... I wonder if somehow Ian could add a function that allowed you to see when you got upgraded, like in the Profile.

You mean like this one?
It got binned, partially due to the switch over to the "new" forum layout, partially because it would probably have become a serious drain with so many members these days.

No, not announcements, just like saying on the member page, promoted to *rank* on *date* or something like that. Just because it's something I like to know, not for any real purpose...

Do any of you remember "borrowing" for subtraction in math class? Apparently we can't use the term "borrowing" anymore. I'm in a math class which is developed to teach elementary teachers how to teach math and there's a movement to not use the term "borrow" because "borrowing" implies "lacking money" implies "poor" implies "disadvantaged" which good offend or hurt students feelings.
Really?
Really?

Not having a good day today. I'm overly irritable and really reactant to anything people do that pisses me off.

Makes me glad I'm not going to be a math teacher... and I really hope that (regardless of the fact that I'm going to be teaching High School History) I don't get stuck in a school district that's a stickler for that type of crap. Skulls may be bashed.Sionnach Glic wrote:Okay, now that's just f***ing dumb.Sonic Glitch wrote:Do any of you remember "borrowing" for subtraction in math class? Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
like subtraction is a positive thing already. *shakes head. Something minus anything sucks .........unless it is a double
negative.
They should just tell the children, "It's not polite to borrow, however if it's ok if offered by your friendly neighbor of a larger monetary advantage.
So..... what are they calling it?
negative.

subtraction doesn't exist, it's simply the addition of negative numbers
division doesn't exist either!

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
