The Tories have stated point-blank that there will a referendum if the treaty hasn't come into force by the time they're in power, but there's a lot of umming and ahhing over what they'll do if it hasn't.
Czekoslovakia's government is apparently opposed to it as well.
I'm not sure if the Czechs are set against it or if they're simply adopting a wait-and-see approach with regards to your vote. Still, there's still hope that their president may refuse to sign the treaty.

Dude, this is pretty serious business. It sucks to fight for freedom so many years, just to get swallowed up by a merger anyway.
What makes them think Ireland's going to change their vote?

Currently watching my Vista machine defragment, which is nowhere near as fun as the previous OS's. For the record, 98 has the best defragmenter ever... 8)

My Linux machine never needs to be defragmented. 8)

Did I mention it's not October? because it's not.
I must say then, this is the longest September I've ever known.
Tsukiyumi wrote:Does it involve ties? Then it's fancy.
Unfortunately it does. I'm not a fan of ties, it's like being strangled by a really weak guy all day long.
Mark wrote:Heh, my wedding was a Japaneese Tenrikio ceremony. Not ONLY did my brother in law stay by my side to keep me from collapsing in fear OR running away and leaving his sister at the alter, I didn't understand two words of the ceremony, EXCEPT with the minister (who was dressed like a Samurai minus the swords) talked to me in English. In that particular ceremony its traditional for both the bride and groom to take three sips of Saki each. Nobody TOLD me this, and taking my natural inclinations as well as abject terror into account, they handed me the drink and I thought it was for my nerves. I downed the entire cup.

I still get crap about that.
Heh. That sounds really cool, aside from the whole not knowing what the hell is going on bit. They couldn't have gotten you a translator?

Hey Lighthawk, don't worry, it's like Mikey said, it would be really odd if you weren't nervous. You've chosen to start a new chapter of your life with a partner. Now all of your decisions have a great impact on not only you, but also the one you love. Everything will be fine, trust me, she is just as nervous. After all of the preparations, and all of the head-ache, you and your new wife get to leave first. :)
We'll get the illusion of leaving first...we chose for some reason to stop by the door to thank people for coming as they leave. It'll be like "So close..."
P.S. I swatted Tzu for ya.
You're too kind. Thanks.
Mikey wrote:Lighthawk - you're obviously aware of the three rings of marriage? The engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffer-ring...
Haven't actually heard that one before...nice.
I kid. There's nothing I can tell you to make you less nervous, but I can tell you that it would be odd if you weren't. I did find a trick that helped, though - I started drinking at about 9:00 am the day of my wedding. A lot.
Interesting idea...no idea how that would work for me, as I don't drink...at all.

a) Because they've thrown in a few bribes this time

b) Because they've got a track record of giving up at the second time of asking.

And they were right.

I agree :) Have you tried a free 3rd party defragger? Defraggler has both a cool name and lots of cool moving boxes.

Oh suck it up you pussy. If you're this far in what's the be nervous about? The time to bail or get bailed on is long past.

I wasn't nervous in the least. Mostly just bored and over it. The wedding was a relief because I didn't have to talk about the prep for it anymore. Of course I'd been with Honeypie for five years before we ever got married so we both were well aware of one another's crazy by then.
