From what I've heard, there seems to be discussion about the UK population being allowed to vote on it

The Tories have stated point-blank that there will a referendum if the treaty hasn't come into force by the time they're in power, but there's a lot of umming and ahhing over what they'll do if it hasn't.

Czekoslovakia's government is apparently opposed to it as well.

I'm not sure if the Czechs are set against it or if they're simply adopting a wait-and-see approach with regards to your vote. Still, there's still hope that their president may refuse to sign the treaty.

Heh, my wedding was a Japaneese Tenrikio ceremony. Not ONLY did my brother in law stay by my side to keep me from collapsing in fear OR running away and leaving his sister at the alter, I didn't understand two words of the ceremony, EXCEPT with the minister (who was dressed like a Samurai minus the swords) talked to me in English. In that particular ceremony its traditional for both the bride and groom to take three sips of Saki each. Nobody TOLD me this, and taking my natural inclinations as well as abject terror into account, they handed me the drink and I thought it was for my nerves. I downed the entire cup.

I still get crap about that.

Now all of your decisions have a great impact on not only you, but also the one you love. Everything will be fine, trust me, she is just as nervous. After all of the preparations, and all of the head-ache, you and your new wife get to leave first.

We'll get the illusion of leaving first...we chose for some reason to stop by the door to thank people for coming as they leave. It'll be like "So close..."

I kid. There's nothing I can tell you to make you less nervous, but I can tell you that it would be odd if you weren't. I did find a trick that helped, though - I started drinking at about 9:00 am the day of my wedding. A lot.

I wasn't nervous in the least. Mostly just bored and over it. The wedding was a relief because I didn't have to talk about the prep for it anymore. Of course I'd been with Honeypie for five years before we ever got married so we both were well aware of one another's crazy by then.

Actualy, rumour has it that Sarkozy is opposed to the Lisbon Treaty. And since it requires his signature to come into effect, it's possible that even if Ireland does ratify it, Sarkozy will kill it anyway. If that happens then I may actualy like the French.
