I use any needed combination to bring my food to my mouth in the right size.

Knife in right hand, fork in left, cut up EVERYTHING that needs cutting from the start, then put aside the knife and transfere the fork to my right for the actual eating part.

I get moaned at for apparently holding it wrong alot, because i grip it within my fist instead of sling it between my thumb and one of the fingers.

I hold it steady with the fork in my left hand and cut with my right. Then put the knife down, and switch hands on the fork.

Yes, I'm odd.

That's how I was taught to eat. Remember that now I'm in Hawaii. Things are different. Alot of meals, chopsticks are used. Otherwise, very few people that I've observed (aside from tourists) pay any attention to table manners.

I'm ambidextrous; I don't honestly pay attention to which hand I'm using.

To eat.

I eat with both hands, but usually the wrong way around. No I'm not left handed.

That could be a little dangerous.), then place my knife down and switch my fork back to my right hand to eat.

 I eat fast, a lot , and often with my hands switching utensils depending on food liked in proximity to plate. Unless the situation calls for proper behavior, like the young lady above, in which I try my best to execute restraint.

Chopsticks are my favorite utensil however. :laughroll:

I just did a little observation during dinner. Interestingly, I ate as I described above as far as my steak - fork in left, knife in right, don't bother switching the fork to take a bite. When I went to the vegetables or potato, however - which don't require a knife - I did switch the fork to my right.

Ate the fried mozzarella with my hands, BTW.

I do the same.

Heh, you'd love Hawaii. The have a dish called a "loco moco" here, which is basically a hamburger patty over white rice with two over easy eggs on top smothered in brown gravy. Can you imagine watching somebody eat such a dish with chopsticks? Hilarious!!! :happydevil:

In that case I'd lift the patty with my left hand, my right hand holding the sicks scooping the rice on top of the patty. Throw the sticks down fold stuffed patty, open mouth and devourer.
