Yeah, that sucks. And no, Monroe, you really can't tell. The seemingly happiest people sometimes are carrying a lot of pain.

Well, I'm going to be offline most of the day; I had to call a plumber to fix a major leak in my attic. I was going to fix it myself, until I saw it. :?

Plumbing is one thing I have no qualms against calling someone else to fix. I'll build a porch, rewire a house, fix any kind of PVC plumbing problem but if it's metal pipe I learned the hard way to not dick with it and get a pro.

I'm lucky in that respect. I'm friends with guys from pretty much any field of such work that you could name, meaning I often get problems like that fixed rather cheaply.

Sucks about the leaky attic. The other day our sink plugged up our neighbors kitchens and so I was doing the dishes and flooded the two apartments below me :P

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

And that's one of the reasons I hope never to live in an apartment building.

Another one being rude neighbors.

Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and put on a happy front, especially if you have folks in your life that depend on you.

Same here. It was copper pipe, which they replaced with flexible plastic hose and added foam insulation instead of the newspaper my grandpa had wrapped them with.

The plastic hoses have a 25 year warranty, but I suspect they'll last a bit longer than that. Plastic will outlive all of us if it isn't exposed to sunlight.

Exactly.

Looks like my sister is planning on visiting in September for 3-4 days, Dad had a credit with WestJet so part of her flight will be free. She's planning on bringing her silly little dog as well, hope Suesse doesn't eat her.

Have fun with your sister, Kendall. :)

I'm heading back to NH tomorrow. Had a lot of fun with my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, brother and sister-in-law. But still... will be glad to be back home. Will also be putting up pics when I get them back.

For some reason I didn't wake up until it was time to leave my house for work. I mean on the nose the minute I should have walked out the door. Consequently I'm hungry, unshaven, and my wife is probably waking up right about now cursing my name because I forgot to get the trash out. So on the whole the day is off to a magnificent start.

Today's the last day of the summer holidays over here. Everyone's back to school tomorrow.

Woo fucking hoo.
