1239, Day Two - "I think it's high time we moved out," Trask said, jumping in the back and inspecting one of the packs. "Enrick - how often do you figure is a good interval to check for unseen company?"

Octavian raised an eyebrow at the insane fit of laughter, "Are you wanting to steer this vernable derelict on its maiden voyage or shall I?" He asked Enrick.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Enrick's face went cold. "If there is ever a time that you're not looking for trouble, then its already to late. There should always be half your number on alert at any time."

Enrick looked away from Trask and over to Octavian. "I like shotgun well enough, thank you."

1240 Day 2

"I'll drive." Marco spoke up, looking over the vehicle. "That way if we do run into trouble, we'll have our best shots free to pick off pursuers."

12:40 - day two

Pahr agilely leapt up into the half-track's open rear hatch. The blazing sunlight and oppressive heat were lessened somewhat in the vehicle's belly, but his head was still pounding from the hit he'd received being captured, and the fumes and lack of ventilation weren't helping.

As he checked his rifle's chamber, he somewhat hoped they'd run into trouble; that way he'd have a chance to pass the suffering on to someone more deserving.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

Trask was slinging on one of the packs that had been stowed in the transport, looked up at Enrick's comment, and sighed. "Blunts," he muttered. Then, aloud, he said, "You don't understand, guard. I always have my eyes open - I'm talking about checking for trouble that's out of sight." He tapped his temple, uncosciously doing so right over where the Imperial sanctioning brand was burned into his head, and said simply, "Human auspex. How often would you run a sensor sweep, aside from visual inspection?"

1280, day 2

Haxta approached the hack-track, laying a hand against the sun hot metal. She made a quick circle around the vehical, kneeling down every few steps to check the wheels, tracks, and undercarrage. She nodded in responce to Phebia's report of the fuel. Coming around the front, she popped open the hood and surveyed the engine.

" It seems to be in good condition," Haxta said outloud, but to no one in particular. She laid both hands upon the fender. " It is an old machine, proud. It will serve well I think."

"Good to hear." Marco said, clambering up into the driver's seat and looking over the controls. "Shall we hit the road?"

" Yes, lets," Haxta replied to Marco, climbing into the back of the half-track. Selecting one pf the rucksacks from the pile, she sat down in the deepest corner of the back and began to sort through the items in the bag.

"Thanks for nothing," sighed Trask. "Every 20 minutes it is."

Phebia ignored Trask's bitching. "We need to take shifts, driving and keeping a look out. Four hours on, four off, should do the trick," she said. "I'll volunteer for the first shift. I think our priestess has already volunteered for the second."

1242 Day 2

Rubbing his arm gently, Karibi hit the ignition switch as the others began to pile on. He revved the engine for a moment as he familiarised himself with the half-track's controls and layout. When he was content with his own knowledge of the vehicles workings, he turned around in his seat to adress those in the back of the vehicle.

"So....who's got the map?"
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"
