Since when can a refitted Excelsior take out a Galaxy?

You may have missed the mock battle between rochey and I, also the lakota held up to the defiant which unless you would say otherwise could own a GCS.

So what series of TNG or DS9 was this on?

So there was a mock battle between Rochey and yourself on a series of DS9? Also, as I remember, the Defiant beat the Lakota, so any conceptions I may have on the power of the Defiant is irrelevant when talking about a Galaxy or Excelsior.

The battle was a draw with neither willing to use QTs. That tells me that in the end the Lakota earned her pay.

If they were using QTs I'd put a safe bet the Defiant ripping the Lakota to shreds.

And still, no where is there any indication that a refitted Excelsior can 'slap stick' a Galaxy with no trouble.

lakota's PTLs were replaced with QTLs which would mean 2 for and 2 aft. That matches the defiants forward payload and outweighs its aft. Also QTs can punch through a Dominion battlecruiser, the defiant has been shown ripping apart these ships. Would you say that the DBC is weaker then the GCS? I wouldn't. I'd put the DBC well above the GCS.

It just doesn't work that way.

X once won Y, Z once won W, T once won W, Z once won X, T once won Z, so T is most powerful.

There is no indication that an Excelsior refit is more powerful than a Galaxy.

Uhh huh, sure. If you don't like the show cannon go read DITL info on it if that would make you happy.

Rochey, I'm still hurt by you just so you know! You were picking on my baby!

I'm sorry, I don't remember this part...
Lakota is on a par with the Defiant
Defiant is weaker than Dominion Battlecruiser
Galaxy is weaker than Dominion Battlecruiser

What, exactly, am I missing, that shows the Lakota is more powerful than a Galaxy class?

No, defiant equal to dominion battlecruiser, maybe stronger. We've seen the defiant give out quite a pasting to DBC's but I can't say for sure if ever defiant destroyed one on its own. DITL holds defiant, lakota and DBC over the galaxy though that is mostly a guess.

OK, you two go fight it out. Rochey, time to take off the rose-colored glasses... those ridiculously long nacelle struts and connecting neck of the Connie are MUCH more egregious examples of style over practicality than those of the Excelsior. Talk about undue material stresses....

I know you're going to put up an emoticon of someone shooting someone else for talking about your Connie, but you made the claim of the Excelsior starting the "form over function" trend. Don't start none, won't be none.

Which isn't cannon.
And as I've just remembered - I'm not sure if a DBC is better than a Galaxy - have we seen them fight in an even match before?
