That's pretty awesome. :)

Funny thing that the apollo is in the "Worst" thread too.

I wish he'd return to the forums for some more art. Guy was cool too.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

To be honest, I do not like this runabout. When it cames to spaceships I am rather objected to this whole streamlined look. (on the other hand I also like cars which are fast as hell and do not look like it  )

I just think it is honestly not needed. Most of the time this ships fly in a medium where aerodynamic is not an issue and for planetary flight operation I always imagined the just pop a weak shield and that is that.

Also - altough we never saw it actually - one of the most beutiful things about the runabout is the modular design which seems not to be present in this design.

The runabout looks like a sensible, well thought out flexible design whereas this one looks like a tom paris wet dream  .

Except that a streamlined look in small craft is a definite trend in more "modern" designs.

The Type 9, Type 11, and Sov Yacht are all very streamlined craft. You could even make the case that the Sovergein herself is more streamlined as was Voyager to a degree. Like it or not "streamlined," is definitely an acceptable design look in Trek. As for popping a shield for atmospheric work, why? If you can just streamline the shape a bit and make it work without a shield why waste the energy on a shield?

I had a significant difference of opinion in the Apollo's case.

That's actually his "Perception" class that got JJ-ized.

And to keep the good ships rolling, seriously, someone else must have some fan ships they actually like, the NX-01 the way it should have been.

Its okay I guess, but damn its a bit thin at the back end. Looks to be less than 3 meters.

Yeah, but then again I'm 95% about the visual look of the ships more so than the stats their maker's give them.

None taken, though I have to admit to being a bit surprised given that to me it looks much more appropriate as a pre-TOS ship than the upside down Akira we got.

True, this one is way better than Ent NX01 but still has very similar design ethic.

IDK, it looks like the same design philosophy as the ENT NX, just with TOS-era parts. I'd rather have seen a primitive, vaguely cylindrical NX.
