I honestly hate most rap.

Check out The Roots - live instrumentation, actual songwriting, and an intelligent outlook. I also recommend (for the same reasons) the old Native Tongues movement, with acts like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul.

I've got a new favourite band called "Scar Symmetry" another sweedish death metal band, signed to the epic Nuclear Blast label - here's an example (just incase there IS actually anyone out there besides me who is a huge metalhead ) Oddly these have a bit of a sci-fi element to them, song titles like "Quantum Leaper" off the album "Holographic Universe" lol...
