I may venture into the world of Leopard soon; wifey just got a Macbook from one of her side jobs. IIRC, my ISP provides wi-fi included with it's ISP charges.

As far as I know, anyone can use wi-fi regardless of ISP simply by installing a wireless router (available at any electronics store) and having wireless-Internet enabled laptops (or desktops, though in that case wires work just as well since they usually stay put). There's no difference in signals going between the router and the modem (nothing really different on the ISP's end) so why would they care?

Or did you mean to say they provide a wireless router free?

I have to do some research, but IIRC they actually provide a broadband ethernet card for free, no router needed. In other words, they give me a card and I've got access in the entire coverage zone of Comcast Cable, in addition of course to anywhere that has their own wi-fi.

Am watching TNG's "The Game" on cable.

Naff episode, but it does have Ashley Judd in it. Can't believe Wes got off with her.

Meh, Riker seems like more her type. Bit of age and experience. Well ok, a lot of experience.

I might have to reformat this computer and put XP on. Vista is really pissing me off, and i reckon thats why most of the gaming I do (A fair bit) is slower than my mums PC. Her computer is identical, except for she has a better Graphics card, and I have a better coolant system built into the case. Mine fairs quite a bit slower than hers when it comes to games, but my PC gets the highest rating on the Windows PC rating thing. Not that it means anything.

The only XP copy we have left is a media center one, not that i'm complaining.

The amount of pure RAM Vista takes to just run is insane. Add to that the virus software you NEED to run with any windows programm and even some of the best computers out there are crippled.

Hell HP and Dell both told Microsoft to fuck off when they tried to force Vista on all new computers, Microsoft grudginly has extended the XP licence to them.

The high end ones do.

But the point was both companies wanted to still offer cheaper ones for obvious reasons, cheaper ones were crippled by Vista.

Ah, fair enough. One of the weirdest things about vista is that on 32 bit (we have 64) you can only have 3 gig of RAM

But yeah...XP media center, here i come (:
