Don't you mean the other way round? The Miranda had 2 aft torpedo tubes and 2 bidirectional phaser cannons, whereas the Connie just seemed to have a couple of phaser emitters over the shuttle bay.

The Connie also has four phasers on the bottom of the engineering hull.

Connie has 18 ball turrets overall.

Miranda has 12 overall, plus the two big ones which fire forwards only, or so it seems to me.

The big phasers seem to have identical fore and aft segments, so I had always assumed that they could fire backwards as well.

I think you're right. Those look like they should be able to fire both fore and aft. Still, the Connie highly out gun's the Miranda.

I don't know you're talking to the only guy on a Trek fanbase website that doesn't actually read most Star Trek threads and thinks ENT was the best series bar none.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

It certainly could be the case, but we never see the ship fire backwards in ST II, or any other time that I know of.

Well, we see the unrefit Defient in Enterprise fire aft weapons.

Other than that, the E-Nil and E-A COULD be completely unarmed in the aft, which would explain why even though they had weapons working when Khan was chasing them into the nebula, they couldn't shoot at him.

The refit Ent has phaser emitters above the shuttle bay.

So, I wonder why Kirk didn't hit Khan with aft weapons then?

No clue. Biding their time until they got into the nebula I guess.

Was probably waiting till they got inside the nebula, the Reliant still had shields outside of it.

Aye, it may have been just a waste of power otherwise.

She had them pre-refit as well, or at least the Defiant did - they were used in IAMD.
