I have no intention of joining the military. I have thought about the Royal Navy on numerous occasions, but it isnt right.

I wouldn't be a good soldier...I have issues with autocratic rule.

As a kid I entertained the idea of being a pilot in the Irish Air Force.
Then I realised we don't have an airforce. We've a bunch of ancient fighters that were all deemed unsafe to fly, and a bunch of unarmed helicopters.

Hell, I WANTED to shoot people, but they made me a battalion clerk instead.

on the subject of the military, someone at my highschool tried to enlist.

They wouldn't let him because he scored below what they accepted on the exam.

how stupid do you have to be to get rejected by the army.

Actually, the sterotype of the "Forrest Gump" soldier is quite misleading. There is alot more to being a soldier than there seems. You DO need SOME brains to not get yourself AND other people killed.

Nonetheless, the typical squaddie is not likely to be Oxbridge material, and the current US Army slogan does very little to refute the stereotype of being thicker than a brick.
