I've had the idea for ages now to cast a DITL ring, but I only do casting occasionally and am not highly practiced at it.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

what better reason do you need to get some practice
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I believe Tim wants to help himself. I cant do it for him. But i shall try my best not to let him get to me. I've got something far better to draw me away, and he will.
Besides. my arms damaged enough as it is.

Well, my best wishes, Reliant. And good luck healing the arm, too.

The damage done by the original cut wasn't quite as extensive as it could have been.
But, add self harming, plus "emo style" to chavvy kids...and you get them trying to tear it open even more.
I admit it was the most stupid thing i ever did. Tim hates himself for it, I hate myself for it, Sam frigging cried when he first saw it which really tore me apart. The wound itself isn't visable. But it still feels weaker, and aches now and then. I will suffer the repercussions (sp) of it for a long time I imagine.

Shit, that's bad news, Dev. My sypathies. Here's hoping for the best.
Reliant, I'm not going to lecture you on the subject, because I'm sure that that's the last thing you want. But I will advise you to remember that. Hurting yourself helps nothing and no one. If you need to blow off some steam, feel free to rant about it here.I admit it was the most stupid thing i ever did. Or punch the fridge.
Though I can't really recommend that either.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
My sympathies as well...........a double header of bad news is damned hard to swallow.
Relient......self change is something I PERSONALLY have a bit of experience with. It is possible to do, doen't get me wrong, but it's something that one CONSTANTLY has to work at. And it's not easy. For example, I am an addict. Using drugs is a natural state of existence for me. But staying clean means I have to constantly work at changing my own attitudes, behaviors, habits, and even thoughts. It has always been and always will be a work in progress. And it's work that only I can do. Others can support me in it, but nobody can do it for me or really even help me to do (aside from a bit of encouragement). I'd imagine the same would hold true for Tim.
Use due caution that your helping him (if that's what you decide to do) doesn't lead to your life revolving around his problems. That is a common occurance as well.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Very true. Especially with the kind of giving person that you are, Reliant, it could be incredibly easily to lose sight of yourself in the attempt to help someone else. It's like jumping into an icy lake to try and save a drowning man; what ends up happening is both people getting lost. You can't help anyone if you let yourself go untended. Let me echo Rochey - rant all you want here, we're happy to be a ready pressure valve.
MetalHead - sorry to hear about your fam. My prayers are with them.
In my own small news, sorry about another couple days' absence. Busy on Saturday (hooray!) including a call from an old colleague about a competitive job offer (though I have yet to see the pay plan,) then movie night with the family Sat. night (Wall-E was an excellent picture, BTW.) Then, in the continuing nice weather on Sunday, our first jaunt over to the boardwalk for a couple of rides on the carousel, a long walk by the ocean, and of course a a lager, sausage sandwich, and Jersey boardwalk fries.
