Better believe it, just look at the current DITL battle. I may be loosing, but I've gone quite a ways.

Class: Prometheus

Mission: Whooping Romulans' asses everytime they violate the Neutral Zone, which is what Starfleet should have done during the many repeated such violations in the last 15+years, instead of sitting on their hands. :happydevil:

Well, to be fair......if Starfleet HAD stepped on the Romulans necks rather firmly, all sorts of later unpleasentness COULD have been avoided.

Aye, in TOS Balance of Terror, didn't Kirk prevent another war with the Romulans by proving the Federation wasn't weak and ripe for conquering?

The RSE wouldn't have done anything. They knew their ships were willingly violating Fed space. They knew that could result in them being destroyed.
Not only that, but they also simply don't have the power or numbers to take on the UFP and win. They'd know that, too. The UFP should have hunted down every Romulan ship that infiltrated their space. That'd have sent a very clear message to the Romulans.

While the people who have been around for a while can remember my newly civi days and my thoughts about the UFP. Dispite my calming down and more peaceful mind set as of late. I still think that the UFP should have just gone in and raped the RSE! Every ship that crosses the NZ is fair game to me. Let them cross, then attack, then send one survivor back with the story. The RSE likes to act tough and pretend that they matter next to the UFP and KE. They'd step back real quick when they start lossing a ship a week and then have to worry about everyone finding out how full of crap they are.

Give me a year to gather and prep a fleet and I'd have the RSE on its knees right next to the french where they belong!

Agreed on the taking out any intruders bit, but I wouldn't leave any survivors to go back to the UFP. Any that live are taken as POWs. They could be a good source of intel.

Not go back to the UFP. One survivor to send back to the RSE. You can keep as many as you want for intel. Never under state the power of fear in warfare.

Yeah, that's what I'd meant to say.
You can keep as many as you want for intel. Never under state the power of fear in warfare.
I'd think that having all your ships that went in there just dissapear without a word of warning would be somewhat more intimidating, but I suppose it's subjective.

I think the RSE empire does it to test the Federation, they dont want a open war and they're pretty sure the Federation commit to one due to one little boarder crossing.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Of course they're testing it. The Russians and the US did the same thing during the Cold War, flying aircraft into each other's airspace. Thing is, both sides knew that shooting one down could be a very hairy situation. In the case of the UFP V RSE, however, it's not hairy at all. It'd be like Mexico trying to fly bombers over Texas. They'd very quickly be slapped down.
