Class: Protostar

Hull design: shaped like the prometheus class but another separation(2 engine, 2 saucer).the warp nacelles protrude from the side and are pushed back on both saucer sections. also about twice the length of prometheus
weaponry: armed w/several photon, and Quantum torpedoes; also has 11 phaser arrays.
defensive: equipped w/ablative armor + regenerative shields
yacht: the bridge can be used as an "escape pod" for the bridge crew
internal: tactical (target practice, etc.)+ civilian holodecks.
ok it's also got landing gear (retractable) on the two saucer sec., bridge compartment, top engineering sec., and escape pods.
escape pods can hold @5 people max. (each having life sign generators so launching all + shuttles can be used as decoys), also has 1 phaser array.

I think what he's saying is the detachable bridge is in place of the cy.

I think there's a point at which to many separation planes weaken the infrastructure of the frame. I further think that you're getting close to that point.

idk, depending on the purpose of the ship and size of the seperation it can be helpful, for example the aft section of the Engineering hull can seperate on my Marine Carrier and serve as a planetary base, transporting large numbers of troops, tanks and other artillery to the planet.

It can certainly be useful, but that doesn't change the fact that a separation plane weakens the ship's structural integrity.
