*sigh* A bunch of crap has come up for me as well; I just need a few more days to work up a bio and introduction.

I think you can still jump in. We haven't started yet (my fault).

Okie dokie. I happen to have the Dark Heresy guide here, I'm sure that could be of help to me. Anyone is free to PM me if they want some info from it.

So how is this going to work, are we going to make our posts and then the GM will roll or decide if we are successful? Or do we just post what we want and determine the consequences ourselves?

The GM should roll for us. That way the GM can keep the game going without any chakats f***king it up with their super powers. Also, just like in the demo battles, forces the players to really be involved in how things work out. We should have a thread for our actions and a thread where the GM writes in writes the story. Lets make this a real RP. If one GM can't make the rolls, another could take over for a short while and so on.

What kind of dice scale should we use? I was thinking something simple like the scale same as LD in the tabletop using 2d6. Then factor conditions in. The goal being to shoot under your characters ability score. Very easy to add or subtract factors.

Rough shooting such as "running, climbing or target in cover" give negative. Bonuses would be "prone or kneeling or steady standing, sighted weapon". I could also factor weapon's str, character toughness, armor and distance.

I could write up a simple damage vs toughness and weapons table. I'd give every character a stat bio to work from. The same system could be used for most everything. Then all the GM has to do is roll 2d6 for everything and anything, from weapons too unlocking a door.

Let me know, I'd love to work out the chart. It'd be fun to see how many I can think of.

Just use the guide in Dark Heresy, I think everyone has it by now. ;)

Thats not really simple... given the size of the books involved... but oh you're so clever

OK, here's my take: I'd rather have things more narrative and less mechanical. I don't think anyone really wants to take our bios and try to convert them into Dark Heresy characters (although we could, thanks to Kendall  .) For things like combat, "secret" tests like observation, etc., I could use a die roll with modifiers based on the character bios and situational diifculty; although for the big moments in the plot, the outcome is going to be based on what needs to occur per the storyline rather than on a roll of the dice.

For combat specifically, we could use the Dark Heresy tables, the rather simple Inquisitor tabletop game rules, or whatever system Deep comes up with. I sure wouldn't mind seeing his table.

Thoughts or comments, please?

I have no problem with any of that. Just so long as we avoid wanktastic stuff, no 150m pistol shots.

I figured we were going to keep it mostly text-based, similar to how the other RPGs were laid out?
