If you're talking about weapons with a wavelength component - directed energy - then you'd end up with (at best) 100% destructive interference. A wonderful defense, to be sure, but not nearly as much eye candy.

ya, that's basicly what I said. It'd cancel out most of the enemy wepon, not reflect it.

To reflect it you'd have to develop some kind of armor that works like a mirror for all formes of energy instead of just light.

I'd imagine that kind of tech wouldn't be to popular in fleet battles. But, cool as hell to watch.

I can just picture fleets of spectators outnumbering the actual combatants in most battle, you couldn't really make it pay per view I suppose but you could sell the further broadcast rights to the Ferengi and let them worry about the merchandising.

It could be a game. Set up the flag ship on one end, and a target on the other with twenty or so ships inbetween, The flagship fires, then issues orders to the rest of the ships to reflect the beam to the target.

Bio-neural computer anti missile/torpedo targeting system:

A completely automated targeting system designed with the express purpose of shooting down incoming missiles or torpedoes. Essentially type 4 phasers in power, the system is designed to respond faster than an officer could, relying completely on bio neural circuitry. As soon as tactical sensors detect what they resister as an incoming torpedo, several of these small strategically placed phasers will begin tracking and firing, as to knock the incoming enemy weapon out before it can impact against the vessel.

c'mon mark, seriosly, this is kind of getting rediculous. with the modifications you've suggested Starfleet would be able to be competant. Nock it off, or you will be banned.

An interesting dilemma for Deep - heresy must be purged, but can someone with a phaser lance actually be a heretic?
