Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I wear one most of the time, but it just gets so funky with that many folds.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
In high school I topped out at 110, and 5'7". Now, I'm almost 5'8, and I weigh 154... I never thought I'd gain any weight. I was always super self-conscious about it too. Now I weigh almost 50% more than I did backthen, and unfortunately, it's not more muscle. That's in spite of becoming a vegetarian. Well, probably BECAUSE of it, really. I stopped eating meat, and replaced it with more of the same craptastic food I ate before... Mac n cheese, french fries, potato chips, cookies... I reallly ought to kick my bad habits though, in a few years I'll be thirty, and my old metabolism sure isn't coming back.
Anyway, my point is that being skinny is NOT a bad thing. Eating right and getting exercise are far more important.
Anybody know how to break a sugar addiction?

I have a pretty sure-fire way, and it works wonders for easy weight loss, too...
so long as you don't mind multiple daily injections, wild mood swings, systemic dysfunction, possibility of blindness and/or amputation, and diminished life expectancy.

I'm sorry, I thought that was a joke.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I don't mind being thin. I enjoy it.
What I do mind is this. Last year around December, I decided I was going to stop eating a lot of ice-cream (and other "junk" food). At the time I was 125 max. The reason had nothing to do with my weight, I just wanted to start eating healthier. In one month of not eating a bowl of ice-cream before bed every night (and other "junk" throughout the day), I gained 20 lbs. By around July, I started to eat ice-cream before bed again (and other "junk" throughout the day). Since then, I have lost 10 lbs.
And if you want to know, my activity level has pretty much stayed the same since I got out of Elementary School. I think my cat is more active on a regular basis.
Basically, what this boils down to is: I stop eating "junk" (with no other changes in my eating habits and no changes in my exercise) and I gain weight. I resume eating "junk" and lose weight.
If anyone could explain that, feel free.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
did you eat anything in place of the ice cream/junk?
It's not all about the sugar/fat content, calories has a huge part too. If you don't use them, your body naturally stores them for use at a later time (which for most of us doesn't come, we don't have natural week-long dryspells where we're force to feed off our own bodies). So if you ate something with higher calorie count instead then that could explain it.

I know its a little late Tsuki, but congratulations you deserve it
now on side note, looking at the conversion rate. $90,000 is about £62,000 right? (i used Reuters converter)
YOU CAN BUY A FUCKING HOUSE FOR THAT?! You can't even buy a cheap 1 bedroom flat round here for that! We live in a modest 2 bedroom terraced house and it cost us £136,000, or $197,077!
Thats it, i'm moving to America when i'm old.

While that would explain it, nope.Lt. Staplic wrote:did you eat anything in place of the ice cream/junk?

In fact, from my 2,500-3,000 calories a day in High School, I've dropped my intake gradually (from getting less hungry) to now, where I eat 1,500-2,000 calories a day.

My guess, Stitch, is that your healthier diet contributed to your caloric intake being used more for building muscle and other essential tissue, rather than fat. Muscle is far more dense than fat, so even though your body was in better shape your weight increased.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
While I highly doubt any muscular increase, it would make some sense. Can't figure anything else.
What really bothered me was in High School. I was trying to gain weight. Didn't work. So I settled for eating when I was hungry (that was the 3000 cal/day). And that has been my eating habits ever since. I just eat whats around and whenever I'm hungry.
Ironically, I need to watch my cholesterol (no bacon, sausage, or more than 1 egg a day). My weight is no prob, but I have a family history of high cholesterol in thin people.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Me....I hit my full height when I was 13. I stand at EXACTLY 5'11. I USED to be as rail skinny as some of you boys, but I've hit an all time high weighing in at 202 lbs. Scary.
On a sad note.........a guy I knew and respected, by the name of Domingo died on Monday night from a heart attack. He had been clean and sober for 20 years, and it's quite a trip, because I JUST saw him three days before he died.
RIP Domingo. 20 years clean is inspiring.

Sorry to hear it, but at least he could claim the victory of 20 years clean and sober before he went. Quite a feat.
