This seems to lack fundamental cardassian design features to me.
On a very basic level, I saw the Cardassian ships as slightly reptillian in nature (large body dragging a tail behind them), much as Klingon and Romulan ships are bird like.

ya, I've noticed that too.
and the half circle disk on top of the hull is like the rearing head of a snake.

I can see that now that you mention it.

Dominion ships, appropriately for the bug ship, look rather insectoid in places.

Actually if you look at it the Constitution, the orrigional ST ship looks like a cross between a flying saucer, the folk lore of Earth's superstellar travel for centuries, and a rocket.

The engineering hull lookes like a rocet without the tim and missing one of the cool fins.

everything else evolved form that.

Daystrom Class
In 2403, serious hostilities were occurring between the major factions of the A/B Quadrants. A treaty negotiation occurred in this year that by some miracle allowed the Federation to begin experimenting with Cloaking technology. Starfleet R&D immediately began work, picking up on the experimental results gathered by the USS Pegasus before her disappearance. By 2405, a working model of the Phase Cloak had been developed.
The following year, Starfleet approved a grant for the production of a stealth scout. The project bid went to a young officer working with Starfleet R&D and the Daystrom Institute Technical Library. He based his ship off several off the new war-style ships being produced by Starfleet. As a scout the ship was equipped with a medium armament, and the most recent propulsion technology, allowing it to get into and away from different situations quickly. The ship was also the first in Federation History that had a cloaking device incorporated into the original designs.
The Lieutenant named the class after Starfleet's historic palace of knowledge, in the hopes that the scouting and espionage capabilities of the ship would add to the knowledge of Starfleet on the actions of its enemies.
The Daystrom Class went into production in 2410 and took a year and a half to produce because of the high amounts of technology involved. The USS Daystrom has since gathered valuable information on Romulan fleet movements, allowing the Federation to prepare for what appears to be a coming war.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Somewhat Prometheus-esque.

well the Prome would naturally fall as another major design pillar with the triangular hull.I used the same layout when dong Paladin sketches, it's just natural evolution of starship design.

Scout? that things got a pretty mean armament. compare it to the Klingon B'Rel scouts. That thing would make mince meat of a fair few of them. If you want it to be a scouting ship, that's cool, just its more of a scout cruiser, considering how potent the weapons are.

yes, it's a scout/stealth cruiser.

I figured the armament would speak for the latter with out me having to say it. :)

always nice to be clear, as some of the less intuitive people would define a scout as being a class of warship, not just a description of its purpose.

Gotta say, i like it.

Finally, we can have a run of starships named after us.

personally, I like the USS Mark. It has a nice "ring" to is, doesn't it?

mark, just because of that, I'm doing a write up on "notable" Daystom Class ships...this is going to be fun. :happydevil:

anyway, new shuttle design, based on the Tigerfish from the Daystrom RP for those of you involved in that.

Image

Galaca Class Suttle
15m x 6m x 6.2m

2x Type VI Phasers
2x Phaser Pulse Cannons (reduced power)
2x Photonic Missle Launchers (Fore)

Shields: 230,000 TJ
5cm Ablative Armour
Standard SIF

Warp Cruise: 5
Max Warp: 9

The Galaca class shuttle was designed orrigionally as a civilian Science shuttle, that was then adopted as a suport craft for Federation outposts and exploration vessels. The Galaca is a scietific/exploratory shuttle, but has the ability to fill several roles.
The first deck contains the cockpit, Primary Engineering, and Quarters. The second contains a secondary engineering, Science Lab, and a small hanger wich can be used as a large medical bay, marine boarding parties, or some sort of land based auxilerty craft.
