That's good reliant, I'm glad.
It's boring as all get out here. I need to get out of this house, or I'm gonna go completely insane

Couldn't stand playing a full game of Rail Baron, eh Nick.
Reliant: That is very good news. I'm glad to hear it... um, read it.

Happy to see it Reliant, and good luck with the future, it may look good now, but it can get bad again just as quickly, so here's to hoping it doesn't.
On a happier note, I'm now viewing DITL though a 19" LCD Wide Screan Monitor definately a step up from the V75 Compaq I had been using.
what'd everyone else get for Xmas/holodays?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Lots of TV marathons (TNG on Scifi), some cat hairs on my clothes, some warmer than normal temperatures...what'd everyone else get for Xmas/holodays?

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Yup. this christmas has actually been pretty good after all that. Since my grandfather overdosed on pills, my dad had a chance to talk to aunt sally that he hasn't done face to face for nearly 2 years. They had an argument over sending presents via the mail (dad said sending money was better as my cousins, Jack and Beth, can get what they like, and sally disagreed). For about a year and a half they didnt speak , purely out of stubbornness. Neither of them were going to back down, so we didnt keep contact. Surprisingly, the more resilient of th.two, sally, contacted us first. And they had a good long chat. So i'm going to theres today in passing before we head home. Apparently all the family is desperate to see me (as my parents outed me of sorts), which is nice to hear.
All went well so to speak

Good to hear, reliant.
Hmm... I got Wall-E, Iron man, A-Team season 1, some gift cards, some clothes and that's about it. Small haul, but a good one.

And I got Get Smart and Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on DVD. A book with a collection of wisdom from Peanuts and The Last Battle by Cornelius Ryan about the assault on Berlin. O, and a bunch of giftcards.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Glad everything's worked out well, Reliant. I would have sent a PM but couldn't think of anything meaningful to say.
I got special edition ST-VI and ST-II DVDs, have one girt forthcoming, and a $20 bill from grandma. Everyone else in my immediate family who wanted DVDs availed of my DVD burner to have me download and burn them for (well, not free but only the cost of a blank DVD). A very modest haul, to be sure, but I now have a month from this day until I'm due back for the spring semester. My last semester went until the 23rd - two days before Xmas, when I finally had my last final exam. I'm only a bit concerned about one of the grades; most of the classes I'm pretty confident of good grades in.
Yeah, I know how great a monitor upgrade is, Lt. Staplic. I myself upgraded from a CRT to a 19" widescreen LCD in September - and I haven't looked back.
