Pretty much. The Nebulas is the work horse like the Miranda and the Akira has the roll bar.

The Nebula was butt ugly, though, at least the Akira has some style. And 15 torpedo launchers.

I kinda like the latter model Nebuals. They seem very practical design which I find nice and smooth.

Form follows function. I consider the Battlestar Galactica to be horificaly ugly, yet its still one of my favourite ships in all of sci-fi, because it can do its job properly.

I'm not saying I don't like the Nebula, but surely they could have made it prettier.

appreciation of its aesthetics are subjective, and would be nomatter what the design, even the most popular ships have their dissenters. Personally i think that the nebula is hidious

I for one love the Nebula Class! With only minor modification it easily over takes a galaxy and it doesn't have that stupid 'neck' connecting the two hulls. I hate the 'neck'. Its the worst idea of the whole design. The Nebulas came out as a kitbash and still looked better! I also love the idea of the removeable pod, that makes me happy that the ST writers got something right!

The latter version Nebula have a very nice look in my opinion. The earlier ones not so much.

Indeed, I found them rather nice to look at.

You can thank Graham for that, it's from his page, rehosted on my own account.

No matter what I love it even though it got its ass kicked by the Prometheus.
There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.
