What will you do if it's a 15 certificate film Kierann?
Well, after watching the trailer, if absolutely nothing else, it's nice to see that they kept the orginal red alert klaxon sound I wonder if the camera will rapidly pan in on the flashing red light as well?

Well, it was built in San Francisco Shipyards, after all.Varthikes wrote:That cop looks kind of like RoboCop.
One thing that irks me is the shot of the Enterprise being constructed ON Earth!! ON Earth!! Shouldn't they be constructing it in a shipyard in ORBIT??
When I go to see it in May, I'm just going to be seeing a science fiction film that has nothing to do with the Trek Universe we've come to know for the past 40-some years.

Re: News on next STXI Trailer
That could be taken to mean a shipyard directly above San Francisco (but it does sound like it would be on the planet)
I'm curious as to how they're gonna get the damn thing into space

Hmm, I wonder does this mean the E-Nil can operate in an atmosphere?

Wonder how they'll "float" her up into space? Massive elevators, or some kind of repulsorlift

It's not possible to orbit above San Francisco. You can't orbit above any particular point on a planet unless it lies on the Equator.kostmayer wrote:That could be taken to mean a shipyard directly above San Francisco (but it does sound like it would be on the planet)
One presumes that it will just fly up into space. I wonder if they will fit some sort of booster rockets to it.I'm curious as to how they're gonna get the damn thing into space

I thought it was a polar orbit which was stationary...It's not possible to orbit above San Francisco. You can't orbit above any particular point on a planet unless it lies on the Equator.

Re: News on next STXI Trailer
Well, not technically in orbit, you could have a drydock over San Francisco, but it'd be constantly be exerting thrust to stay above the same point.

Or, it could have just been a shipyard in orbit named after San Francisco.

Or the orbiting drydock part of the shipyards.

Re: News on next STXI Trailer
They just showed the trailer during The Sarah Conner Chronicles. Looks a hell of a lot better on my tv than those lousy theater rips.
And, since they never stated that the San Francisco Shipyards were in orbit, they are apparently on Earth. Seriously, folks, if minor crap like that is going to bother you, don't see the movie. I'm sure Paramount won't even notice.

Re: News on next STXI Trailer
Looks nice. The nacelles look too big for the pylons on Enterprise, but if that's the worst I can say, then all the better. I just hope it's not too bombastic for its own good (like all the damn superhero movies, etc).
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

It's this "minor crap" added to other "minor crap". Lots of minor crap becomes major crap.Tsukiyumi wrote:They just showed the trailer during The Sarah Conner Chronicles. Looks a hell of a lot better on my tv than those lousy theater rips.

And, as I said, it's not an issue whether or not it was actually stated.
