I meant the sound, not the accents. And Bjork isn't Swedish, she's Icelandic.

I know i was just using her as an example of a singer with some accent. I maybe there was a whole swedish sound I attributed to the US incorrectly.

And totally unrelatedly

Here's a great song.

And, the lyrics.

MetalHead will be happy with that one, if he's ever back - he's got a Soilwork quote as his sig.

Actually, it's thanks to him that I first heard them. I'm a huge fan now. :)

Since we were talking about it in another thread, here's some Weird Al. :)

Amish Paradise

White And Nerdy

Smells Like Nirvana

It's All About The Pentiums (I really like this one  )

I wish I could find more, but fan-made videos seem to dominate YouTube.

A little mainstream but I think it's pretty good. And maybe the Brits don't get to hear Kanye.

And one a bit more out there I think

Lastly it's just the intro for an anime, but I really like the early funky guitar sound.

Actually since I'm now thinking of series openings. One of the things I really enjoy on an intellectual level with anime is the cultural back and forth. Where I'm watching an anime fansubbed from Japan while they're singing in English.

And some of the songs aren't bad either.

Some examples of Pure English intros
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xoQuu7GPxAI
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Re8bIzbcu5w (wicked accent in this one, but it's all english)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NSTphPlzZp4
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rNow3NThny8 (technically the ending)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zDfxZ4NcE
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4oT2W3gaUBc
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CB1MeTAsTks

And partials (there are tons more of these with a couple words here and there)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=quPSpwFiKgk
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hiEGGmWqYR4 (Though now I'm wondering if there is some choice here in the words they choose to have as english)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7BBTthCY-Q8 (Japanese guy rapping)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vqX-EXdGf_Y (just a little and maybe it isn't, but it's a fun live action intro at any rate)

Wow. I didn't realize there were this many until I started thinking about it. And it isn't like I've seen that much anime. I think most of the series I watch have english in the intros just from the number i posted now. Maybe it's the seinen genre I tend to watch? Also a lot of english writing. I'd be dubious of them having different version for the US. But like I said most of the stuff I see is fansubbed, so it's coming in straight from Japan.

Anyway I just think it's cool.

As far as anime goes, here's the opening to the best anime series ever made, IMO. Cowboy Bebop

Actually I think most of the Ghost in the Shell soundtrack is solid.

I'm now kinda going back through the intros of anime I've seen looking for english. They just keep cropping up.

Samurai Champloo (Really pretty good if you like Samurai stuff)

Serial Experiments Lain

With Anime songs, my taste often steers into the demented side.
Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun opening - perfect for Rave parties :D

Wow. I've been gone a while and reliants eye shield gets even thicker...

Anyway a slightly different but fun song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG6eNKLLvbM

And I think through working on the series somehow they managed to wrangle getting animated into a scene for a later video of theirs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76sf-Vj8x-M&NR=1

And the animation mix makes me think of the real version of the "Numa Numa" song.
