Ideas for new classes of starships
Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
IIRC, he re-calculated the warp scale again.

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
In "All Good Things", Riker orders the Enterprise to Warp 13, IIRC. Of course, that was an alternate future created by Q, so who knows what that means. You'd think Picard would've said something about it, but meh.

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
Picard was going nuts thanks to Irumodic syndrome at the time, as well as being somewhat confused by the whole time-jumping business. Hardly surprising that he didn't pick up on Riker's order.

Acutally, I can see the Warp scale getting recalcutaled soon. All of the new ships have speeds in the warp 9 point something or other range. All of those decimals will get to be to much soon.

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
Rather weird that Q would have even a pretend future with things in it that made no sense whatsoever to Picard though, don't you think? What would be his motivation to put in something Picard would consider impossible, if the whole point is to create a plausible future?Captain Seafort wrote:Picard was going nuts thanks to Irumodic syndrome at the time, as well as being somewhat confused by the whole time-jumping business. -OR- He was lucid at the time, caught the order, and didn't say anything because either the transwarp problem had been figured out or the warp scale had been recalculated and such orders were perfectly normal.Captain Seafort wrote:Picard was going nuts thanks to Irumodic syndrome at the time, as well as being somewhat confused by the whole time-jumping business. Didn't Picard have SOME memories of the time between his "present" self, and his "future" self, when he was in the future?

That's how I intepretted it.Mark wrote:Didn't Picard have SOME memories of the time between his "present" self, and his "future" self, when he was in the future?

yes, he did which is how he was able to tell everyone that the different scans had been innitiated.
In a previous post i explained that i calculated a new warp scale for my ships:
V/c = WF^(log8760)

Dude, what language is that? I'm a simple fellow. I need numbers. On your new scale, what is "Warp 10"?

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
Take 10 to the power of the logorithim of 8760, which would give you 8760 b/c of the properties of logs.
so at WF=10 you'd be traveling 8760*c m/s

Dude, logorithim sounds like a dance move to me. Warp 10 in TNG = Warp ? on your scale? (what is YOUR infinate speed?)

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
don't have an infinate speed
I'm not sure what it would be on the TNG scale, It'd be transwarp speeds according to it though.

Re: Ideas for new classes of starships
So, then there will ALWAYS be a somewhat faster speed on your scale, then?
