Preferred Pairing of Powers
I've been delving into the world of 'trek fanfic and fancied that a few of the ideas would have made a good epi.
Just curious but in terms of an alt universe story set in the TNG/DS9 era, what pairing of powers would you prefer?
I would love a romulan-cardassian alliance plot as think that their knack for espionage, and casual brutality would go well, whilst a friend of mine, would want a klingon-cardassian alliance, different to the 'shattered mirror' 'verse and certainly more fleshed out, and a classmate suggested a ferengi-orion union, which would be interesting as we next to nothing about the big green b*ggers except the offerings from 'enterprise'.

Gorn and Tholians. Two great species which are sadly underused.

Breen/Romulan. That would be one screwed up alliance. They'd stab each other in the back.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

OMG
The Ferangi-Orian Alliance would be one giant capitalistic nightmare!
I'd love to see the Klingo-Fed alliance take on a Breen-Cardassian-Romulan alliance.
It'd be a hell of a war.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Klingons and Gorn.......I think they would compliment each other quite well.

With a nice Chanti, and some fava beans... It could work.Mark wrote:Klingons and Gorn.......I think they would compliment each other quite well.

Re: Preferred Pairing of Powers
The Dominion and the Klingons would be an interesting one. With a major AQ power on their side in place of the minor powers that were the Cardies and Breen, they could have a serious chance of conquering the quadrant.

Re: Preferred Pairing of Powers
I think pairing Klingons and Cardassians would generate some great friction. Innuendo anyone?
Then again, Romulans and Cardassians could do some really sneaky things. Maybe they keep'd their alliance totally secret; they could play the other powers for complete fools.
You know what I really want, is a Trek show without humans.

I also like the Ferengi and Orion alliance. That could have made a great show.

I think the Romulans and Cardassians go well together.

This should be a poll as well I think. What say you GK?

Re: Preferred Pairing of Powers
Always on the lookout for poll ideas, and I like this one.
There'd be a hell of a lot of options though. If we had even ten species to deal with then there's 90 possible combinations!
