the amount od discussion is far higher around here, whereas SCN has been aroudn for a LONG time, people know each other, know how they would react to each other, thus iscussion is already over, And a superb administrator which batters down any argument using google. Whereas we are mainly avid discussors and a small number of lurkers and other contributors. There community is much larger, thus the 'core' group of posters is larger. The most active forum in terms of topics seems to be A&D. I do have to note that I don't lok everywhere on that board, there are sub forum I have never even been.

I remember a memberchart of SCN, a long time ago, which showed there was a HUGE concentration of members at the east coast of the US.

by the way, what topic should I use to be an emissary the SCN regarding the USS Daystrom? And we need pics of it, preferably good pics, they have decnt standards. At least something along the lines of Darkomens pictures or perhaps GK's ships. Why? People expect 3ds max 8 models where the hull plate numbers can be read on a GCS size model.

And theydon't seem to focus on common sense a lot, composition of the ship, the flowing of the lines is a whole lot more important than wether or not it blows up or not.

I'd disagree that debate and discussion becomes moot if you already know what stance members will take. When a new topic is posted, I can already tell that (for example), me, Deep and Seafort are going to agree with it, Teaos and Mikey will disagree, etc. The purpose of discussion and debate is not just to find out where someone stands, but to get to the bottom of a certain issue.

A pic of the USS Daystrom? You mean the ship our forum created?
None exist, not even sketches. Just throw the stats at them, and point them to the various threads where we discussed the various aspects of the vessel, and see what they think.
Maybe now that DarkOmen has returned he'd be willing to do a quick sketch of it whenever he gets a chance (I remember he did some requests last year)?

Yeah, a look through their design forum showed that they take a different view when it comes to approaching the design of a vessel than to us (ours is better! :P ). It'll be interesting to see their reaction to a ship that puts function before form.

I looked through the A&D forum they had, and it seemed alot more concentrated on aesthetics than practicality and purpose.

The exact opposite of us.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

You mean the freighter? I didn't criticise that because it was ugly, I criticised that because I felt the design was needlessly complex.

Cool. I'll have to keep an eye on that thread. :)

I'm betting on there being complaints of it being overpowered.

And of it being underpowered for that matter - you can never underestimate the stupidity of the internet. 16km Sov anyone?

Well considering SCN seems to be more about the pictures than the shipI doubt they'll like it.
